I honestly think they’re trying to reduce the “Hey WTF!?” forum posts.
Back when I first encountered the flickering in December I made a topic like “Here are the armor piece you should NOT wear if you are epileptic because they will cause seizures”
What settings are you on? And what are you seeing as flickering?
I got that message today also. I use a driver program called Driver Easy, and it usually tells me if there is a driver update. Guess I didn’t look. Because There actually was a driver update today, and once that was out of the way I was able to log onto the server again. Nvidea GeForce GTX 1660TI is my video card. Good Luck!
Go To your Device Driver, Look under the Display adapters, Highlight and then Right click the One you want to update, the menu will drop down and offer you the update option. Click on that it should update your driver. Or try this Link at NVidea… Download Drivers | NVIDIA
They aren’t. It’s happening across multiple games, not just Blizzard titles. This is an nVidia issue 100%.
the last time i updated a driver at the request of blizzards systems, i ended up with blackscreen and had to roll back the entire pc.
unless things become unplayable, i’ll update at my own convenience and continue to ignore those “helpful” messages
If an update is available from Nvidia, you should almost always update. Unless they report an issue with the driver. Now whether or not that will fix your issue with wow is unknown, it shouldn’t hurt though.

Supposedly fixed on the latest Nvidia driver (I haven’t updated, yet). I had to roll my driver back to pre-Cyberpunk 2077 launch driver to fix the flicker for DirectX 12 at the start of the expansion.
The same settings as before - everything maxed out except no AA. I just saw the trees flickering like hell in Revendreth but haven’t seen it since, although I stopped playing soon after because The Vault has been removed. So it’s possibly a one-time thing, I just don’t want to get my hopes up.
The latest driver fixed it for a while, but soon the flicker returned.
I reverted back to the 457.51 driver (12/2/2020) with which I’ve had no issues. (FMMV)
I disagree with this…on my 2080 I had an update that made my computer crash and Windows 10 not load until I reset it to initial default and kept the old driver.
There will be exceptions, there’s no way to predict how a new driver might work with existing components/software. But in general, if the manufacture has a driver update they’ve been tested with the most common configurations.
That doesn’t mean there can’t be problems when installing new drivers, but it is generally better to try to update then to let old drivers get older and more of a security threat.
I use this location. Just click on the “read more” on the latest driver, scroll down below the picture of the video card, and select your download. I always use the normal download for Win 10 desktop, never the DCH version. https://www.guru3d.com/files-categories/videocards-nvidia-geforce-vista-%7c-7.html
I updated my drivers yesterday, against my better judgement, and now certain Tauren models are just solid white, no textures applied … it’s kinda funny at first, but in the end it just gets annoying.
“Your 3D accelerator card is not supported by World of Warcraft”
Graphics too fast, gotta slow down
Issue has returned as of a few releases ago. Noticing the flickering in The Maw with the lines of lava on the ground, swirly effects such as enemy abilities or the soul wells, Ardenweald with the trees that turn into cubes, and even in Sanctum of Domination with some mechanics. Pretty ridiculous.

yeah some m+ mechanics are doing it too. the blue swirls on the first boss in mists comes to mind, but that’s not the only one.
You know, after reading the story about the woman who worked for the security company being harassed by blizzard and then the company refusing to work for them…
I am deeply curious if someone at Blizzard pissed off Nvidia and they refuse to work with them…
