Did the word thrall become a taboo?

Maybe the rest of the goblin stuff will be good, but as I’ve said: tone deaf.

No, Thrall is sill used to this day. He took the name proudly, only his wife called him Go’el.

It’s not used anywhere else, so we don’t have the data to make a judgement.

The lack of use anywhere else suggests Thrall’s use of his name changed its meaning to the point that humies don’t want to use the word anymore.
:relieved:

Or it wasn’t in common use in the first place. Go’el was given that name by a very educated nobleman with a flair for the dramatic.

The word has come up for naming creatures for sure, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard an NPC or seen a story written where anything was called thrall.

No, it is common. They used the word a lot in the novels. Not just for his name but for the undead thralls of the lich king

If it’s being commonly used, that kind of answers the question. The writers aren’t using it overly much because it would confuse the reader.

Not really. Thrall with a capital T is the name, thrall is just a slave. People with reading comprehension could know the difference

Search “thrall” on Wowhead, and there are a couple of examples of it being used in the normal way.

Speaking for myself, knowing that it’s all aimed at fighting yet another former Horde leader turned villain is going to poison that whole experience.

Gallywix was always a villain. He didn’t turn into one. Go play a goblin then do the heritage quest.

He was always enemy number 1 to us.

Did you not read the part where I said “speaking for myself”?

You don’t get to tell me what I do and don’t enjoy.

Yeah, but you’re also 100% wrong. This is why I dislike the whole “horde/alliance” mindset you guys have. He was hardly ever horde. Since cata, the player character goblin and Gazlowe were the defacto goblin leader

For a goblin storyline, killing him was a long time coming

Opinions are never wrong, doofus. Look up the definition.

What I don’t enjoy is fighting Horde leaders and former Horde leaders. Gallywix is not an exception to that rule.

Got it, you’re dumb. Just like the horde and alliance mindset players usually are.

I know the feeling friendo. I often wonder why blizz is as tone deaf as they are sometimes

Same, blocked you as well

Only tone deaf ones are the ones who are media illiterate.
