The 2.1 nerfs were definitely a bit too much, but this version is definitely overtuned. They should just implement some of them not all of them.
- Remove the MC, or at least make them CC-able
- Remove the impact damage of toxic spores.
- Lower Coilfang Strider HP by about 20%
Those 3 nerfs would do the trick without gimping her, and you could leave it that way for the remainder of TBCC
SSC/TK wasn’t nerfed originally until well after Black Temple was released, but I don’t recall how long. It was quite a few months or maybe even the ZA patch where the encounters were nerfed.
Originally no guild killed Kael’thas prior to Black Temple being available. When the BT patch hit, Kael’thas was retuned to be the version we see right now and guilds immediately moved into Hyjal/BT.
The interesting thing about TBC classic is that T5 gear is going to be more relevant than it was in original TBC. Because once you killed Kael back in original TBC, that gave guilds access to BT/Hyjal with a few loot pinatas with better gear. So it made a lot of T5 gear obsolete and farming Vashj/Kael was a bit of a pain. So guilds just killed them to attune everyone to BT/Hyjal, then just focused on T6 progression.
Now most guilds in TBC Classic will be close to T5 bis going into BT/Hyjal which will probably make it a lot easier than it was originally on top of people being far more skilled and knowledgeable.
This version of Vashj ceased to exist before 2.1.
I hope not. The bosses are already pretty easy would not like to see them nerfed even further.
First 8 are def easy.
Vashj and Kael def a tier up.
Half a tier, maybe. Still, the content is too easy as is and doesn’t really need nerfs.
Seems like a bait response from someone trying to hide
I’m willing to bet you didn’t kill anything
I’m pretty ok with it being tightly tuned. The issue is that pre-nerf Vashj is probably harder than anything until SWP which makes it kinda weird that you have to kill her to unlock the next level of mostly easier content. I honestly don’t think we’ll have a challenge like Vashj until pre-nerf Muru and even then, by the numbers that was still an easier fight.

They’ve nerfed the last tier raid since forever. The reason they didn’t in classic vanilla was because they were released super nerfed
Post-nerf Vashj is harder than anything in Black Temple tbh.
Even back in TBC we always found it weird how easy Hyjal/Black Temple were.
Pre-nerf Archimonde is going to be the hardest boss I imagine, because of hilarious curse rng on people who are airbursted. It’s dumb.
When Nihilum went into Black Temple in 2007 they one shot everything to Reliquary of Lost Souls, took six days to kill Reliquary because of the p2 dps check, then killed Shahraz, Illidari Council and Illidan in one night for world first.
Blizzard hotfixed Illidan to be harder the next week, but all they buffed was the flame phase with green fire.
Pre nerf Vashj > all of tbc.
I think it’s fine. It’s only week 3. A lot of guilds have already cleared it. There a bunch that are still stuck. That’s the way it should be.
My guild is currently at 4/6 , 3/4. Beating our heads against tidewalker and not having enough time for KT attempts. The bosses are harder, true, but the trash… god its such a time sink…
For context … we raid 2-3 times per week at 3 hours per session.

What game are some of you playing? Catch up mechanics and nerfed previous phase content has been part of wow forever. Of course it should happen. It won’t be hard for geared people regardless if nerfed eventually anyway. Nerfed or not- your guild knows the fight- people are better geared etc. Random BS sure but that’s just annoying not challenging. Maybe SOM is for some of you?
This isn’t like retail where you can access nerfed content immediately via raid finder.
The answer is: yes.
Kael’thas and Vashj have a large number of nerfs they received over the lifetime of TBC, but we’ll also see nerfs to things like A’lar (only 4 platform positions instead of 6, more consistent add spawning and in fewer numbers, etc), Astromancer (her debuff turns into a boring Living Bomb mechanic), and general health/damage nerfs across the board.
SSC/TK saw many nerfs over original TBC. The joke versions weren’t introduced until ZA or sunwell patch, I can’t recall. Maybe even sometime in between. The version of Kael now is basically teh same version that top guilds killed back in the day. Vashj is mostly similar except MC is in P3, but most top guilds killed her when MC was removed. Was still a tough fight without MC.
It had one. Method.
Nihilum took advantage of a bug and their kill was discredited. Its not a debate.
Mind control is fine, its a tank/healer/communication check
Iirc you can use line of sight from the pillars to cancel casts from mc’d casters as well, so another skill/awareness check
They’re defs a step up but they are both straight braindead compared to any modern wow mythic boss or other modern mmo hardmode
