Did Plunderstorm "cost us a raid tier"?

Title. Just wondering, since that was the reasoning used in the past to explain why player asks weren’t developed or implemented.

Nobody asked for WoW: Battle Royale, and people have been very vocally asking for player housing for years. Today we have WoW: Battle Royale and no player housing.

Fascinating.

Hard to make player housing into an E-Sport.

Plunderstorm can have a creator Battle Royale - but I don’t think people will be tuning into twtich for “WoW Crib Tours”.

It looks like an intern threw it together in their free time so I’d have to say no, it did not.

Depending on the level of customization in this hypothetical player housing, I 100% would watch that. Just like I enjoy transmog competitions.

They will use the raid tier reason for everything. :woman_shrugging:

I know. I mean I also hate Plunderstorm but I just can’t imagine that much work went into it.

Doubtful, blizzard bought a company called Proletariat that made a game called SpellBreak and probably put them on this.

Plorm is basically a stripped down SpellBreak on the wow engine.

But also,

You must not have played many games where people build. Because there are creators who do builds in games like Minecraft and Conan Exiles and a ton of people watch so they can recreate.

Also, I hope they add RIP Ray.D.Tear to the headstones when players die in Plunderstorm. Or RIP P.Housing.

No. This was a separate team, part of which was Proletariat that they absorbed, who made the Spellbreak game.

It’s just funny that they even saw fit to pay another external team for content no one asked for. Following that same line of logic…why haven’t they gotten another team involved to make content people have been asking for, like, I don’t know, player housing?

Stop calling it that lol. That sounds like a Rick and Morty gag lol.

The devs have been listening to player feedback, and they are thrilled that we love it as much as they do! In fact, going forward there will be no more raids so they can focus on giving us what we really want - more Plunderstorm.

I don’t expect a raid in a .6 patch.

Highly unlikely. We knew season four was going to be the case for a while. And 3 raid tiers has been the standard for a couple of expansions.

This is kind of irrelevant. Blizzard doesn’t want to do player housing, and they have made that obvious. Us getting something we didn’t ask for does not change the fact Blizzard has made it obvious we’re not getting something the player base has asked for.

It’s not an external team. Proletariat devs were absorbed into Blizzard. This is partially those devs and already existing Blizzard team doing this.

Garrisons are to housing as Plunderstorm is to work required to costing a raid tier.

I’m just hoping it’s a test to simplify retail. Removing the button bloat (or everything bloat) as well as addons (including the need for them$

id rather have this then player housing

Well. That would be horrible and push a ton of people to quit.
