I can’t help but notice several players from the WRA community has moved over to MG, Moonguard Horde also seems livelier than it has in the past several months.
A lot of people have, yes. There is still a population on both factions here on WrA, just smaller.
Sorry, I’ll elaborate now that I have more time:
There has been a years-long saying that MG is for Alliance and WrA is for Horde, and this meant that many new/returning players to Alliance moved to either WrA-H or MG-A.
Shadowlands and BFA are both expansions that did poorly in (almost) all categories of gameplay (PvE, PvP, RP) and thus player numbers have dropped.
Shadowlands is not very conducive to most forms of RP and the ABK scandal has also turned away a large portion of RPers considering they tend to make for the most socially aware group playing a game. This means many people have moved to other games.
There is a work-in-progress project aimed at uniting WrA-A and WrA-H and revitalizing the population of RPers on WrA-A. It’s also important to remember that WrA being PST means your availability vs. when the server picks up (usually around 11pm/midnight EST) may be different. It’s also the holidays/close to the new year and people may be busy IRL.
Most of the active RP guilds from Alliance moved to MG.
Not all of them. Many remain, and are starting to put together collaborative efforts again. Without a doubt, it will be hard work, but it’s already beginning to pay off.
These are the End Times. People are scampering for dry ground while the flood waters rise.
I feel obligated to enter every one of these doomsayer “WrA iS dEd? LoL” threads and post the thread about the community alot of people are working very hard on to try and spark some RP on WrA (Alliance Side).
No, RP on WrA isn’t “dead.” Have a good day.
I didn’t and never will
I’ve just recently done the exact opposite and come back to WrA from MG. For as many things as the two servers share in common, there are subtle differences aside from population density that give each server a specific feel. It’s also been said in the past that in terms of MG and its population, quantity does not at all equal quality. That fact was my primary reason for returning here to WrA; and so even if the opportunity to RP isn’t present 24/7 like it is on MG, I’ll take what I tend to find here over the…spectacles and general styles/tendencies observable on MG.
Hopefully the efforts to reinvigorate RP here find some success going into the new year. And even more than that, I pray WrA maintains those subtleties that make it different from MG in the process.
Can I put my obligatory Duskwood plug? …I’m putting my obligatory Duskwood plug. Come to Duskwood.
Please come back to WrA everyone I don’t have any good names on Moonguard and I don’t want the short and simple Miko to become Jhuunobhoraal or whatever nightmare the name gen gives me that isn’t taken
Come to Duskwood! Live in Duskwood- low taxes, low prices for houses and land! Maybe a little cursed, maybe a little haunted, but who can beat the atmosphere!
This, all the way.
Yeah, WRA is my home. I’ll be here forever.
Susan Express have you finally returned to us?
I don’t think I could swing Moon Guard. I went over there once and it was all so very…uptight? I didn’t experience much free flow, casual RP*.
*even though this was only my personal experience in a sea of different experiences, you should absolutely feel as though I made a sweeping generalization about a server on an ailing, withered game and get appropriately upset.
How dare >:(
Honestly I find lots of casual RP on MG when I punted my KT shaman over there.
The issues?
I made a Draenei lady character… she’s not been used since -the whispers-
If I told you how many futa’s/guyplaying lesbians have flirted with Kat…l.
a lot of wra has just outright quit as well, so it’s not unreasonable that some of them may decide to move to mg for the larger population. it’s just a function of the game’s overall uuuuhhh not great-ness and all the uuuuuhhhhhh scandals.
Made an alt.
