Did the Mage-tower back in Legion on a rogue, I have the teal colored Ghostblade appearance and I am able to transmog it. However, after searching through all my rogues to try and find the one who originally did it so I can unlock the re-colors, it appears none of them have unlocked the base color! Contacted support,
“I can confirm you have the Ghostblade base appearance unlocked - meaning one of your rogues in the WoW account completed The God-Queen’s Fury Mage Tower challenge in the past. I’ve gone through every rogue in the account, however, there’s no information on which rogue had the quest completion record. Due to technical limitations, I’m unable to dive into this further. I’d recommend sharing a feedback on the forum so the team can gather these ideas and consider making the quests unlocking the tints available.”
There’s only one thing that occured that comes to mind, I have one rogue I cannot account for that I mustve deleted around legion/bfa. He no longer shows up in restore deleted characters. I might be SOL. I’m 95% sure he’s the one who completed the challenge. Any ideas?
If they cannot verify it in their logs, then yeah, out of luck I’m afraid.
Edit: Have you tried restoring the legion/BFA rogue? It may still be there as it would be flagged at the higher pre level squish and therefore above the min level to remain. You just need to remember what realm and look at deleted toons.
Edit edit: Here is a link that shows what levels end up being permanently deleted. I had a ton of really old toons that never dropped off because they were flagged at the pre-level squish and therefore above the min level. I restored them during the free restore period and now they will drop off in a month or three. Anyway, your Legion/BFA rogue should (probably?) still be there to restore.

Thank you, this is very helpful, Ive submitted a character restoration ticket, I cannot see the old toon on my delete list on the realm he was on. So hopefully this works!
Hmm, you not being able to see it may be a problem, all the ones I restored were visable from the undelete thingy.
I wish you good luck.

Typically in situations like this, the GMs can only see the same list that you can see, so you may not get the result you want. But I always say that it can’t hurt you to try. Good luck!

Unfortunately, Cjx, I’m only finding one other Rogue on the account that existed when the original Mage Towers were active. It is a level 45 Orc on Stormreaver, but the character doesn’t appear to have completed any of the Mage Tower quests.
You are likely correct, an older Rogue that is no longer available is probably the one that did that content. It is possible that after the level squish you may have deleted the character and if it was under 50, it would have been purged after some time. I’m afraid we have no means of recovering a character that has been purged, sorry.

I am currently having a similar but slightly different situation that might possibly be what you are dealing with.
I too completed the mage tower back when, and also have the mage tower base appearance for my paladin (Shattered Reckoning) that i can currently tmog. I recently got the urge to go back and get the other colors, however I cannot find the artifact weapon anywhere in my bags or bank on the Paladin character that I have always had and can be the only Paladin I completed the content on back in legion.
I was told in a ticket that a faction change (which i did at some point) can remove the artifact weapon from your possession entirely, despite you keeping the achievement for completing the mage tower in legion and having the tmog appearance. But since i dont actually have the weapon, I obviously cannot equip it and go back and earn the other appearances. Which to me seems like such a stupid oversight on Blizzard’s part. Like why would a faction change ruin this small aspect of the game for me and the potential to get the other skins? It is ridiculous.
I am hoping that because I did unlock the base mage tower appearance and have the achievement on the character that I can go back and do the questline again to get the base artifact weapon and then go after the appearances despite the faction change. I asked if this were possible in my last ticket response but have still not gotten a response back unfortunately.
You no longer need to equip the weapon or have it in your bags to unlock other appearances. But I’m uncertain if that weapon needs to be in your bank or not. My assumption is that it should just go by the achievement, so you could always try to unlock one of the colorations. Go murder Kil’Jaeden in Tomb of Sargeras on the character that should have the weapon and see if it unlocks. You may have to relog after you kill him, just to ensure it ends up in your appearance tab.
Also: have you checked your Void Storage to make sure it’s not in there?

Legion Artifact weapons cannot be placed in Void Storage.

Artifact weapons and the heart of Azeroth cannot be destroyed. Also unique items (unique-equipped items can) cannot be placed in Void Storage.
Yes you do need to relog after.
Furthermore for the mage tower specific skins for the 10 Rated BG wins (unfortunately) and Heroic Kil’jaeden kill need to happen on the character that has the mage tower appearance unlocked.

Edit to add the support article into my post, which mentions Void Storage.
That was never part of the discussion. The person already said:
Yes. That’s why I said as much.

Yes, I have seen the support article. But I have also attempted to place my Artifacts into Void Storage. The game tells you that you cannot do that.

I’m experiencing exactly the same thing. Makes me sick
Do you need any help with anything?
