I have a 60 mage that I currently raid on every week, but I recently made a hunter and have to say it’s been the most fun leveling I’ve had in a very long time. It may not have portals and free water, but I find the gameplay much more relaxing and I like having a pet to manage. Try it out, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, plus the leveling seems to go by very fast.
Ah yes, keep feeding the lies… Excellent… More gear for the rest of us warrs that stick it out.
Seriously though OP, play what you want and will enjoy at endgame. Warriors are just fine in PvP. I have no problems in 1v1s Vs any class. Yes I’m well geared, but who wouldn’t be if you raid enough and put in the effort to get the gear?
Warriors are very gear dependent, but once you get it, you become an unstoppable wrecking machine.
Don’t listen to any of these posts saying warriors suck. When BG’s come, all these people will see that warriors are the strongest class out of them all. Not in terms of self sustain, but in terms of raw damage. Warriors are on the front lines of any PvP altercation not because they’re just melee, but because they can basically melt any armor type in front of them; especially clothies.
Look man, I had a incredibly rough time leveling this warrior. When the honor system came out, I was barely level 54. The last 6 levels were EXCRUCIATING to grind out. The only thing that kept me going was knowing that end game content was gonna be a lot of fun for me. PVE is a lot of fun as a warrior. Any dungeon is easy to be top DPS and I recently raided MC for the first time and hit 4th in DPS on trash and boss fights a few times. As an arms warrior too! Fury warriors dominate DPS in dungeons and raids. I mainly leveled this warrior to PVP though, and the PVP for me so far has been great. Obviously mages are incredibly annoying to deal with, but other than mages, every other class is fair game to 1v1 against.
I’m also gonna say this, if you are needing other people to convince you to play a class; or even the game you are doing it wrong. You should be playing something that makes you WANT to get on everyday and play the game for hours. Never force yourself to play or level something!
Opinions are like puckered &%$$#*@#, everyone has one. I played in Vanilla, and I had the same issues as you. When you boil it all down to the basics, every class has some use. Viability is a matter of preference (min/max vs flexibility) and skill. A good [insert class here] will kick the face in of a bad [insert class here] much more often than not.
I wanted a SPriest or Druid for PvP. Went Boomkin because of guild need. Do Druids suck? Overall polls say yes, but they’re flexible as &%$# and can hurt if ignored. Do what makes you happy. It’s a game, when it stops being fun you need to change tactics/characters or stop playing.
I’m a druid. Druids are amazing tanks, but are terrible at PvP if you are not restro. Warlocks are fantastic and have great damage, but can’t tank or heal.
well…nothing wrong with play an alt or another character to see what you like.
But if you are going to do what I suggested, you are better off playing on a pve server to at least grasp the class somewhat. I could argue trying on a pvp server, but I wont. That could be when you have a better…idk grasp at what you want to do.
But if you do make a new character, you’re brother can help you out. So that’s a plus.
I think I’m going to keep pushing on my warrior. It May take a little longer as I might only play on rested xp and play around on an alt while I wait, but there is a reason I chose warrior over everything else after a month of trying to decide. Who knows maybe I will find a love for my alt and not go back, but watching Monkeynews again today just showed me how good warriors can be solo if played right. No healers, no buffs… just engineering and skill… now if only I could find a way to farm lionheart
Theres no shame in rerolling. Hell I have a 40 Rogue, a 50 Priest, a 48 Hunter, a 30 Warlock and a 25 Warrior.
The truth is they all have something amazing to offer. That is the beauty of Vanilla. You could be a Warlock wishing you made a Warrior or a Priest. They are all tons of fun. I settled on Hunter and im 100% sure I made the right choice for me. I don’t consider it wasted time as I had tons of fun. However if you are wanting to casually Raid PvP and Farm I would say Hunter/Warlock/Mage checks those boxes all really well.
Ill finish by saying this games not going anywhere. Its not too late to do anything. You can still find Deadmines groups all day every day all the way up to BRD. I did Maraudon all day today on my Hunter and I absolutely love every minute of it. Take your time. Its not too late.
The other thing about re-rolling or trying out other classes is that even if you don’t stick with them, you still gain some knowledge about how that class works, which helps when you fight against (or even alongside) them in PvP.
