Did I make the wrong choice? Is it too late to reroll? Do I stick it out anyway?

So I got my warrior to 40 and burnt out. Then I pushed past it and hit 41… extremely burnt out. I decided to take a week off a gain some rested xp. I came in this weekend fresh and ready to roll. Within 30 mins I was done and logging off , but I managed to stay away from alts and went back to the warrior and forced myself to use up all the rested xp and then a little bit more so that I logged off at 43… I wanted to gouge my eyes out lol.

I love the idea of warriors, watching Monkeynews makes me want to be one. However, all I want to do at 60 is pvp, do the odd raid to make myself stronger in PvP and to farm gold… I’m starting to feel like I may have picked the wrong class for my goals? Now I’m in so deep that I can’t choose an alt to play because I’ve got 5 days played invested already.

What is the smart choice here? I feel like I’ve given this a real shot as it is. My brother is already level 60 so I’d be even further from catching up.

Lvling a warrior is the toughest grind.

5 days isn’t really a lot, and if you’re not having fun right now, why keep going. Just try another class. Can always level it up later

mage is pretty easy to learn for pvp has high skill ceiling too so u can become godlike also very good for money making if u dont wanna play ah or level professions and isnt healer reliant

So you want to raid and pvp on a tier 1 class for both of those things

but you think you made the wrong choice?

interesting.

It just seems like it’s be forever lol… I mean I could put time into any class and eventually hit 60, maybe even faster (hunter?)… i know i could push to 60 eventually, but if im miserable at 60 as well, whats the point? I dont want to push through only to be miserable afterward. But god do i love the idea of being a geared warrior with a pocket healer… sigh dreams.

Tier 1 with a pocket healer… hard to get gear if you don’t enjoy tanking. I can do it, I just don’t enjoy it. Also, hard to get gear on a war without money, being the most gear dependant class and worst at making gold.

Warrior can be a really rewarding class to play. Stick with it man, it’s worth the grind! The only thing you should worry about when rolling a character is what server you’re on.

Do me a solid and tell why it’s rewarding and why it’s worth the grind?
Cause right now all I’m seeing is: hunter is good in PvP and good at farming, lock same, Druid same…

Huh didn’t you want to be a Druid or warlock yesterday? Altaholic spotted

Also warriors scale better than every other class now and even more so as phases continue and new raids are released. There is no reason not to play warrior, once you get gear you become God. Find a guildy healer and que for BGs for the most fun experience.

Yea I’m still making that choice, but it’s because of how I’m feeling about my main that’s making me think about rerolling to either a Druid or lock :stuck_out_tongue:

Druid and lock are more safe picks for instanced pvp (which is going to be the norm soon when wpvp dies). The benefits are you can be effective either being a flag carrier (Druid) or heavy dot damage without being threatened by much in the background (warlock). Warrior unfortunately can’t 1v5 like they can in retail on fury (a sad sad fact I do so love my fury warrior) so you’ll need a healer to have any fun. I personally like being able to grind by myself so I like more self sustaining classes. Mage being one of the best battleground and 1v1 classes there is I can be versatile as can be in any situation thrown at me in BGs.

This right here is a perfect example of a classic Gambler’s Fallacy; one feels so invested in a round that they mistakenly continue matching bets to stay in because “well, I’m in this deep already, might as well lose more.”

People have rerolled in the 50’s. The whole point is to have fun playing the game. If you’re not doing that with your warrior, reroll. Put the warrior on rest and play something that makes your buttcheeks clench with excitement and makes you laugh like a baby. Having fun is worth the sub; not having fun isn’t.

Hey OP, it doesn’t seem like anyone else here wants to be honest with you, so I will.

Yes, you screwed up bad, and you should reroll.

At level 43, you are actually only halfway to 60, in terms of xp needed.

Warrior is the worst class in the game, by a long margin, despite their performance in pve.

They can’t do anything without bleeding edge gear all the time and someone like me (especially me, as a paladin) backing them up.

You shouldn’t create warriors, fighters, etc in a fantasy game. If you wanna play a warrior, just go play CoD. I don’t even allow them in my D&D games for this reason.

This is a game where you can be a wizard, ffs.

Why the hell would you make a guy who’s good with weapons and that’s it?

Edit: Warriors are a commoner, non-adventurer class. The stormwind and orgrimmar guards are warriors.

Why would you do this in a game where you can be a master demonologist, miracle-channeling priest, fire and ice wielding wizard, etc.

Might as well make a “baker.”

What could ever be less interesting than “hurr I fite gud”

My personal opinion is why play a class you aren’t genuinely enjoying playing? Don’t force yourself to play what’s not fun for you no matter how cool the idea of it might be. You will continue to burnout and just won’t enjoy the game. The point of a game is to have fun. Try different classes and find the one that you actually have fun playing.

I have played every class to a point throughout my many years of playing WoW. I tried every one of them back in Vanilla. My first main that I got to 60 back then was a druid. That class is still one of my favorites. But later on I wanted to try some other classes because I got tired of always playing my druid. The very last class I tried was the warlock because I thought it was the class I would hate. Ironically, it quickly became my favorite and changed her to my main.

I was hooked on the warlock by level 18. The play style for me is genuinely just a ton of fun, especially in PvP.

So my advice is try not to worry so much about what you feel you should be doing and playing in the game, but instead, play and do what you actually enjoy doing. I think forcing yourself to play what you aren’t having fun with is what would be a real waste of time.

Yea I’ve been thinking exactly this… if I make a character that’s good at making gold solo and in world PvP, I could always come back to the war and fund him at 60 for the great gear… not sure whether that would be a Druid or a lock (yes I know mage is a good option for this, but everyone has a mage so it’s pretty lackluster… and I don’t really enjoy leveling as a mage except AOE farming… which these days is impossible on my server).

Because when I win in a 1v1 as a warrior because I’ve outplayed them, I feel good about myself? Lol
Yea the half way there mark kills me inside lol…if warriors could solo farm well, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

See, there ya go! Totally roll that lock for the free mount and the OP solo questing imho, plus it’s an amazing 1v1 class.

Yea the 1v1 capability is a real seller for me as I’m solo 90% of the time… if I was playing with someone even 50% of the time, I think I’d be ok with the warrior.

That being said, Druids are really great 1v1 classes and solo levelers.

What about being a warlock had you hooked at 18?

Do you really need the community’s opinion on the subject ?

WoW is a game. Games are supposed to be fun.

Maybe warrior isn’t for you. Maybe you would have a better time with an other class.

You aren’t enjoying your warrior ? TRY OTHER CLASSES THEN.

Or stick to it, w/e you think is best for you.

Simpe logic here. /shrug

If I didn’t need the community’s opinion, I wouldn’t be asking for it lol
I’m using the forum for its intended purpose… socializing, getting advice and discussing wow… how is there anything wrong with that? People who want to help answer and give advice… people who don’t like it don’t even have to read it lol

You’re right, warrior might not be for me, or I could be making a rash/bad decision by rerolling because things could be amazing at 60 as a warrior for what I want to do, but I’ve never had a 60 warrior prior to WOTLK so I wouldn’t know without the community’s help

While I found myself having fun with the warlock out in the world questing, it was when I first went into a bg on her at around level 18 that hooked me on the class.

While I know druids can be really good at PvP, I just wasn’t good at all in PvP on mine. Healing came more naturally to me on my druid and is what I was good at.

But I remember doing a WSG for the first time on my warlock. I was guarding the flag room and saw two players coming for me. At first I thought I was dead for sure. But to my surprise I killed both of them by myself. The play style of the class just suit me and seemed to come natural to me. I ended up being very good in PvP on my warlock. I prefer affliction for the mobility and instant cast dots. You can dot on the go without having to stop to cast, You have great crowd control abilities and ways to keep your health up with siphon life, drain life and hearthstones.

There was a time in Vanilla when warlocks were definitely overpowered though. I could ride to a base in AB with 3-4 guarding it and take it myself, which should not be possible. I would ride in and hit howl of terror to instantly fear everyone, start dotting everyone, then keep them feared while the succubus would keep one seduced. Just keep them dotted, feared, put siphon life on everyone to help heal yourself and drain life. It was a blast.

In bg’s I would put siphon life at the least on every single player I came across to keep a steady heal going on myself. Warlocks did of course get nerfed later on in Vanilla and I admit they needed to be nerfed. But the play style is really just a lot of fun. You have the different minions that are useful in different scenarios. You have life tap to help keep your mana up and if you learn to use it wisely, you can keep yourself fairly full on mana and health both by using drain life to heal yourself back after using life tap. This causes you to have little downtime while out farming or questing.

There are a ton of things that sold me on the warlock really. But I found I really, really enjoyed the dots and drains type of class and loved the mobility of it as well.
