I don’t know. Do you think he’d be still angry when his master can shut off the thrill and heat of battle at a whim?
Agreed, but Garrosh was a nearly 1 dimensional villain. He has flashes where you think he might have more in Cata, but then it’s lost afterwards.
Saurfang has more depth in Borean Tundra then Garrosh got in his entire existence as a character.
From a subjective perspective this was the perfect tribute for him. It’s what Garrosh needed. But from an objective stance, and this coming from an elf player, he deserved much more in terms of cinematic and script quality. The content was good, the presentation was piss poor in my opinion.
Garrosh was a beloved character because of his place in orc lore. He was developed into a multi-layered character in his prime. To see him go out any other way would have betrayed this. I applaud the conceptualization of this IGCS. I abhor the quality of the scripting and production value (or lack thereof as it were) put in to the IGCS. The character deserved better.
This crappy fifty second animation is better than the entirety of Shadowland’s story.
What I don’t understand is why so often they use orc facial animations that have their lower jaw widening at the front for emphasis, as though it were normal for a jaw to be hinged in the middle to spread that way.
Please stop. It totally breaks my immersion to see a face do such an unnatural movement.
I agree it was pretty good and a decent send off.
Your true warchief is gone for good, hordies
Is this an official cutscene or is it a fanedit?
Why are the animations so bad?
Jeez, I thought people were exagerrating, but yeah; it’s quite literally machinima quality. What’s going on, there?
The cutscenes that used ingame models always felt a little bit machinima by nature, but all the sudden, janky movements in this one; when he falls to his feet, and when he picks up the sword, especially - the latter just sort of … teleports weightlessly into his hands.
I understand covid got in the way of production and everything, but this just feels cheap in the worst possible way. Still a neat scene, but god, even the initial attempts at in-game cutscenes in Wrath didn’t look quite this janky. And they were janky.
Animations in 9.1 are so bad (also is so many bugs). It looks like the whole SL is done by some Blizzard internists then proper developers. Hope so it is, and REAL developers just working on WoW 2.
If not… WoW 10.0 will be the end of WoW, and if patch 9.2 will come, again, in 8 months… God have mercy for this game.
I’m starting to wonder if half the animation team have quit in the last 6 months and we just haven’t heard about it.
It’s like a garrys mod meme video.
Hard to say but many, many people left Blizzard and like 200 got kicked.
The Most talented ones don’t work for company anymore.
Boby taking 150 000 000 $ so… probably in Blizzard working now only internist for half free, so they are doing everything. They try for sure, but… they are only underpaid interns.
The cutscene was awkward and felt out of place.
Let Garrosh fade away lost in the shadow of his father he could never live up to.
He could be humble. But never meek.
Oh wait that’s Kael’thas lol
I mean, he’s a pile of dust now so that’s basically what’s happening.
I’m getting tired of this whole “for Azeroth” schtick. It’s part of the reason why faction pride is gone and why people just want to eliminate the division completely. I always find it very cringey when our leaders shout that line out of nowhere. Ever since BfA everyone’s gone soft. It’s gotten to the point where “For the Alliance” and “For the Horde” mean absolutely nothing to me when our leaders say it.
With Garrosh, I feel the Horde pride. When he says it, he actually means it, and he’ll die by those words. He went out like he should have and I’m okay with that, despite him being my favorite character in the game. No other leader that we currently have will have half as much faction pride as Garrosh did, and that’s sad and pathetic.
Blizzard might as well be the Venthyr since they’re basically trying to undo that faction pride. If this is the route they’re going, then hell, they should just get rid of these 2 factions and let us not take part in this mess of a story, and this is coming from someone who was solely against taking down the faction barrier. Every expansion it’s some cosmic force threatening AZEROTH of all places in the universe, and we have to strap on our gear and be like, “welp, here we go again…”
On the note of that scuffed scene however, I do like that they used Grommash’s theme from WoD in it. It’s fitting as he not only is “the son of Hellscream,” but they both had that stubborn and headstrong attitude just before ultimately facing their death through sacrifice. I do wish they would have redone the theme though, and not just simply reuse a good theme like they usually do for newer content. How lazy of them…
Maybe we can use his soul ash to forge Gladius Multitudo, and call it War of the Two Swords
Give 'em hell Garrosh!
It’s nice to see you have an accord with that hamster in your pocket.
Exact-fricking-ly.
The only one with soul.
