Diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. Looking for a simple class to play

Frost DK in Wrath was my all time favorite spec. Not too complicated and they had very fast paced gameplay back then

We do that together as well. I like collecting pets and transmogs.

I introduced her to WoW through hunters in 2006, she’s grown to like many classes. we now have close to 50 toons each, mostly for cosmetics.

I’ve always been an altoholic. Now it’s on steroids.

Demon hunter most of them seem to be playing with Cognitive impairments already.

man you are playing the wrong game. There was a time when this game would more than accommodate you but it is now a 100% overtuned toxic esports cut throat marathon in every game mode other than solo delves.

All classes are 10x more complicated to play than in the WoW of yester year because of the insane over tuning and massive amounts of key bloat and complex rotations. Even staples of easy mode like beast master hunter requires much more effort to “perform” to content standards now.

I recommend just play whatever looks cool to you and play it at whatever pace you want. Because this game is past it’s prime regardless. Have fun on your own terms my friend.

I may look into gse more. When I loaded it I had no clue what to do or where to start.

def dont pick balance druid. these nerds are trying to act like balancing that stupid mechanic isnt annoying. you can play any class with a rotation addon like hekilli or whatever its called.

IF you want wrist problems to go with your other issues play fury warrior.

Assassination rogue is also super easy and slow to press buttons, dont let people turn you away because of the combo point thing, there is literally nothing to think about. you use like 5 abilities, and you do them slow.

It has changed greatly now…

Now you import the Macro string. then save it.

Then you go to Keybinds. and then click a new Keybind. Then you pick which sequnce you want and set a keybind to it. IT can be anything you want, just know if you set a keybind if blizzard had anything keybound there first, GSE rewrites it.

YOU CAN set up character specific keybinds. In the Key bind menu of the wow menu there is a check mark that says Character specific keybinds. Just make sure to check that on all your characters and keybinds that you change say on this blood elf warrior you are posting on, will only be for that toon.

I love vampires so blood naturally appealed to me. Unholy was ok but I always find myself coming back to blood.

blood dk is a good choice. its rotation is slow and simple. plus you can solo anything if you have to.

what happens if something dies in the middle of your rotation, or… you splat. Does the macro reset?

Piggybacking on this - I find it hard to see through all the swirlies and spell flashes and puddles so the GTFO addon, which screeches at me when I am standing in bad, helps me a LOT. Akyria, this may help you too!

hekilli will pick an ability based on the situation. you can have it even include interrupts and defensives if you want. It will use aoe when required and reset your rotation on the next pull. nothing to press or think about other than following what it tells you.

Feel free to add me on BNEt Randomhero#1298 ill help you get started for sure

I was just saying in another thread that Elemental Shaman has a really nice flow to it.

  1. Keep fire dot up
  2. For single mob, spam lightning; cast shock/fireblast when proc (there is a visual cue)
  3. For groups, spam chain lightning; cast quake when there is a proc (there is a visual cue)
  4. Drop elemental totem at bosses

The rest is support you can ignore most of the time.

So how the macros work, at least how I run it, is …

I do the macro on button press. So I just keep pressing the button. And then when the Global cool down is up and the macro is pressed what ever skill is next in the sequence and it lines up with the macro being pressed is what goes off. Then I jsut target the next mob and keep going.

I only reset macros when the macro wigs out which does not happen often. At which case I just manually press a skill and then go back to the macro. That ussually resets it. I dont think to hard about it if I use a macro.

I tend to only use the macro on my hunter or Demon hunter. Those two classes with their rotations work really well with GSE. Specifically BM with pack master.

So does prot warrior and Fury. Not tried it on arms.

The only qualm I have with Hekili is it wants you to blow your whole wad of cooldowns immediately. Some of those I prefer to save when I really need them and it’s a tad confusing when they pop. Overall it’s a great mod.

So sorry to hear the health issues you are dealing with.

I have mained Frost mage since TBC, and as it sits right now is pretty easy to play. There are really only a couple procs to worry about, and they are pretty visual. It allows for pretty free movement with minimal effort.

It’s also fun

If you have questions I am always happy to help! We take care of someone with early onset dementia, so I can always be a listening ear for that too!

I am sure there are a bunch of us that would be willing to tank things for you to help you get back in the swing of things as well.

Take care of yourself.

I have played off and on since the very beginning. I had a car accident in 2022 that resulted in a traumatic brain injury that cause cognition, speech, vestibular, and other issues. I could not play for over 18 months. WOW was incorporated to my therapy. I started with 10 mins at a time, increasing as tolerated. I can now play longer and do some group things pretty well. I do have to have down time after. There are settings if you get motion sickness. Class doesn’t matter as long as you are not a healer or tank. I set up a simple rotation that I use, relying on the numbers associated with the damage felt and to heal myself. I was an Evoker but switched to Pally/Ret. I think Hunter might be good but have not done it myself. I am not as quick as I was but that is okay. I am 62 so I understand.

Try continuing to play on your character
