find a friend that plays who is trustworthy and won’t just trash on it or act like it’s a masterpiece for fun and ask what they think, forums are probably the worst place to go for game advice.

trying so hard not to watch ANYTHING about the game so that i can play something new this summer…it’s so tempting though…
still torn between necro vs druid…necro is my traditional diablo flavor

It looks great but it plays like a 1995 game. This is a huge flaw, and with a company that makes its name by innovating on existing genres this does not represent any kind of leap forward. It is just a graphical update of what has already been done. This is a pick it up and play it for the story game, not something to continue playing once you get through it. I’m sure there will be some die hards like there are in d3, but it will suffer the same fate once people get bored of the lack of any unique innovation.
So for the art and story team. Great job! For the gameplay team, you stink.
After Diablo Immortal…I’m gonna wait…
Just the costs of the base game makes me hesitate.

diablo is okay at best. Its out dated and there are better looter shooters or rpg dungeon crawlers out there imo
My experience of Diablo 4 is extremely positive. I am playing the beta on a Ryzen 5 5500U laptop with no other GPU besides the Vega 8 graphics. It runs flawlessly, absolutely flawlessly. Low detail and FSR 2.0 performance, but it goes right along no problem. I prefer to play on very low power hardware when I can. It runs at a more stable frame rate than WoW, and it looks almost photorealistic even on low + FSR.

It is likely because the Diablo forums are mostly hard core Diablo players and don’t like any Diablo games that aren’t Diablo 2 and get mad when D3 and now D4 aren’t D2 clones.
Don’t get me wrong, D2 is/was an amazing game (even D2:R) but some people need to understand no other Diablo will ever be like D2 unless they ever do a full D2 remake.
It’s been so long, I don’t remember much about Diablo 2. Was it really the best game in the franchise, as so many maintain? I’ve been tempted to buy D2: Resurrected and give it some play time, do you think it’s worth the $40 Blizzard is charging for a new download?
D2 is fun if you don’t know D2. I thought I would love reliving it. I bought it on two accounts so I could level a telesorc and a ww barb at the same time. But, it feels very hollow now. It’s solved, and there’s just not very much there. It’s a tiny and very short game, and it didn’t seem that way back in '02.

To be fair, the beta is taking place up in a snowy mountain region. Not exactly a place known for vibrant colours. I found one optional dungeon that had a fair bit of blue in it.
Not saying the rest of the game won’t be dull and greyscale but time will tell with that anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did make the whole game washed out colours, though, considering the reception Diablo 3 got with its colours… just because of a rainbow in a waterfall, really…
I DEFINITELY love the move away from D3’s “scroll and drawing” cinematics. They really sucked…
I’ve only played for an hour, but I really enjoyed it. I definitely also love being able to choose the race of my characters.
The only thing which I thought was terrible was… well, I can’t say, because it’s a thought crime. 
I think the leveling pacing is okay. but…
that mob scaling has me go ugh, kind of. you get levels but sometimes it feels not so great. I logged level 18/19 last night not feeling like I go powerful really. I am one those players that likes to go back to 10 or less zone and smack mobs silly.
I am getting bfa flashbacks in d4.
joy…I got a new level. and some gear. And its wet noodle weapon with weak tank time. wait, what?
Almost makes you want to not level. you like those say level 14 mobs as you were upper level 14 with some gear. 15 comes and the wow player in me is looking for debuff icons.
what weakened me? see no debuffs. Oh…picking up level 15 did.
still early, still beta. Hope is there at level cap and the farm runs hit we run around the proper uber people we are suppoed to be. I’d say nephalim but so far as I have seen story, that hasn’t come up yet. I’d assume we are but yeah its blizzard. lore rewrites can happen lol.

msot of the bosses (i have seen) and harder eiltes in events are add-fests. Unless some post level 25 boss spice this up this with some ST love this game is looking to be AOE spec favored. the boss is there to drop lines lol. you pull an pop adds.
that will fire up the people who like ST builds. may also lopside future season ladders as yeah…some classes aoe better than others.
this is why d3 sorc owned many seasons ladders. They had a weak start to leveling. make it through that and now you walk around in an AOE aura of doom for rank pushing in seasonal ladder.
Literally. many seasons the fotm sorc builds literally walked around and stuff just died to them.
