Just played a couple hours of the early Beta, and my impression so far: very, very nice.
The graphics are gorgeous, the character customizations really good, and the gameplay very smooth, the combat animations fluid and natural.
The story so far is pretty captivating and engaging. I can’t wait to keep on playing and experimenting with the skill system in the next few days.

Well. I’m glad I didn’t post on the D4 GD forum. The toxicity there is unbelievable.

No you didn’t! Everybody is crashing! Maybe you’re one of the few that didn’t. I dunno…
I’ve had a blast so far, almost to beta level cap on my Barbarian.
I tried logging in at 7:30 PM Pacific time. The queue was 15 minutes. I exited and went off to heat myself some dinner. Came back in about half an hour, the queue was 16 minutes. I just left the game on, Alt-Tabbed, opened a browser window and caught up on the day’s news. Bing, I was in before I’d finished reading. Watched the intro cinematic, created my first character, started playing. I was DC’d once, got right back in, and the game has been smooth, with no hiccups, for the couple hours I spent in it.
All in all, a pretty decent Beta launch, IMO.
A lot of people just want to be angry, they wake up looking for something to be mad about. Blizzard fans are probably the worst “gamer” of this type of person. These guys constantly gripe about the games but constantly keep throwing their money at them. lol
Can druid use werewolf power or they hard set as bear druids?
I couldn’t stand waiting for the cut scene to finish so haven’t even tried it yet.
Tried to get in 3 times yesterday and all three times over an hour in queue. Even at 2 am a queue but I figured I would wait just to check it out but I can’t stand a boring cut scene that the game won’t let me bypass. I only have so much I can do around the house at 2 am.
i had to high graphic settings so i couldnt see where to switch of hardcore at the start and i just died at the den mother level 10 rip
Druids aren’t available yet, in the early access beta (for folks who pre-ordered) Druids and Necromancers aren’t available yet
How its been phrased seem to indicate they’ll be available once the beta opens up to non-pre purchusing players (and I’m only assuming this is what’s going to happen, I don’t know for sure that its what they are planning)
Druids and necros are only available in the next phase of the beta. But they have both werewolf and werebear shapeshifing. Along with storm and earth magic, and animal pals. They’re like a combo of wow’s druid, shaman and hunter from the looks of it.
Reception looks kinda mixed from what I glanced on the forum.
It looks extremely grey. Grimdark does not equal grey. Diablo 2 resurrected full of color and it’s still a very dark game.
Interface look horrible, like a mobile clean window with almost no stilization, again - d2r looks better.
If Diablo isn’t in it and we don’t save his daughter from hell like we were promised in D3 then I won’t touch the game.
It’s good, made it to 24 out of 25 level cap tonight and cleared most dungeons
Its basically a copy paste of Lost Ark but without the arena pvp and with more rpg customizations that we’re familiar with
Curious to see how/what the endgame plans for diablo 4 are
They implemented pretty much all diablo 3 systems so enchanting/power extractions/cube powers are all present albeit under different names
Also hot take but as a long time wizard main in D3, playing wizard in D4 felt like there were significantly less build options after reading legendary effects and talent capstones/core. Kinda weird
But definitely fun experience overall and diablo was definitely due for a graphic overhaul
Game has an identity crisis. Who is the game even made for? Is it a Lost Ark clone that isn’t as good as Lost Ark? Is it Grim Dawn but not as good? The loot looks terribad nothing on the quality of D2. I don’t see how people are saying it is that good. I AM KRUMTOILET!!!
it looks like the same exact game with near no changes to me. not a chance ill pay 70 for it
