Diablo Immortal scores one of the lowest games ever in history

After watching this video…I did not imagine it was THIS bad[The microtransactions]…this is an abomination of a game…its basically monetization on top of monetization on top of monetization…Blizz made themselves a monetization sandwhich of a game.

As of this current time: The user score has gone from 1.7. to 1.3 from video on metacritic.

EDIT: it’s now 1.1 rating!

So, a standard “free” mobile game.

The monetization exists because people are willing to pay.

You’ll see people come into threads and bash the subject despite obviously having purchased a ksm and/or aotc carry, presumably with tokens and therefore money.

People wonder why no one trusts gaming reviews when review bombing exists.

It’s not the monetization that disappoints me in the game - I knew that was going to be in place the instant they announced it, given the ‘parameters’ of development.

I also knew that the way I play games like this, the monetization wouldn’t hinder me too much, I play mobile games just to de-stress and blow stuff up. If I can’t blow it up as quickly as a whale…so be it.

But what has turned me off of the game is the controls. I just don’t like them.

I do wonder why so many people are just pearl clutching shocked at how monetized it is…one, Blizzard’s design philosophy has changed SO MUCH over the past 15+ years. Two, NetEase. Three, free to play. How the hell else are they supposed to make money.

Doesn’t diablo have their own forum? Blizzard definitely can’t be THAT cheap.

Just watched a video showing that Blizzard nerfed zone events so now it’s almost impossible to get 3 stat legendary gear for f2p players…
Pretty obvious that the ONLY reason Diablo Immortal was created was for the cash shop and whales…gg blizzard…way to tarnish one of the oldest Games in gaming.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was true. The director of the game can try to explain everything in good will but the recent tweets explaining things def gave a bad scope to the game.

This game was created to farm money from the players. I wish games with awful monetization styles came with a warning so I could never download them.

I’m not sure that the insane monetization was so much an issue, as the game just being absolutely awful. If you’re going to make me pay for something, at least give me something worthwhile to pay for.

D3 does have forums, but last I heard they were not intending to create a forum for Immortal. Probably because of all the bad reviews/whining they knew they were bound to get.

Diablo fans are pretty diehard, and Blizz blew it this time.

Yeah…

real diablo fans were never going to be touching this crap in the first place

The one time purchases for$1-2 are generally worthwhile, but I stay away from large purchases. Otherwise the game is pretty great.

Kinda?

I guess just don’t blow the dungeon acquired crests until you’re max level and you actually get some use out of them. You’d still be forking out a good load of cash this way.

Make sure to keep track of how many $1-$2 purchases you are making, please! It seems small but if you buy five 2-dollar things in a week, that’s already $40 in the first month.

I’ve spent about $5.

Indeed and I’m going to be wary of D4 now…I feel this is testing the waters to see if they can add this stuff into D4 which will be a deal breaker for me.

Only $499,995.00 to go (or so I heard).

Might be slightly extreme, and you’ll prolly have to sell your house, but man just think of all the monsters you’ll kill.

The game has a great story and you can do quite a bit without spending money. People just get offended when they’re offered microtransactions. The F2P is so good that I feel obliged to spend a few dollars.

Blizzard probably saw the whales Genshin and Lost Ark have and said “hey, we want some of those whales and we don’t care if our current die hard fans leave us.” But I’m just spitballing here.

I actually prefer the controls on mobile. I hate the controls on PC or with a controller. Diablo 3 is the prime example of how Diablo should work with a controller.
