They do. I was helping a pally buddy with a +4 Dawnbreaker and he was doing as much damage as, or better than, my 625 DH with his 598 ret on some pulls. And of course he had cooldowns practically every pull. I’d be fine with the damage as it is if they’d just drop Eyebeam to 20 seconds. Mini metas with even minier burst windows isn’t cuttting it with the length of the current cooldowns.
Rogue has Evasion that is basically 99% dodge chance, Cloak of Shadow that is 100% magic damage immunity, it MOVES with the rogue and it allows Rogue to attack. Darkness needs rework. It should move with DH, increase dodge chance to 100% for 3s, reduce radius to 5 yards, all party members are unable to attack while Darkness is active.
OR Darkness twisted the dimension surrounding DH, increasing dodge chance to 90%, any successful attack that is dodged would heal DH for 5% maximum life up to 15% healing, no large radius, its a DH only defensive spell, last 5s, 3 min CD. (Cloak of Shadow also last 5s) ,
Netherwalk should remove and immune to all crowd control. DH enters another dimension , how could it still be affected by impairment ??? The whole point of speed boost is to allow DH to escape with Netherwalk.
Remember when Eye Beam was a 30s CD, gave us 288% haste, and hit like a truck?
I remember.
Shadowlands DH was the worst melee DPS, with a 30-second Eye Beam cooldown. Then in Dragonflight, it started nerfed with a 50-second cooldown, which was later reduced by 10 seconds.
Man, these devs really hate DHs.
From Shadowlands to Dragonflight, they nerfed Immolation Aura—it used to have no AoE cap, and now it’s limited to 8 targets.
With each expansion, they keep making things worse for DH.
Im going to be honest, while i hope they do something with darkness i also really hope that it’s not any of this.
It is awful that our group defensive is one that people have to go stand in to use, and that our rotation means we cant stand in it without losing dps. Having it follow us will not be the fix though, because everyone else still needs to stand in it. If you fel rush out and the group takes damage or someone dies because you had to do more damage, it’s not only useless but bait. A better solution imo would be something like DK got for d&d and prot pallys for consecration, giving specifically the DH a window of time to run out of the darkness without losing its effect.
Are you suggesting to change it to dodge? Because right now it’s not dodge (blur is), it’s a chance to avoid all damage from a hit/tick. Dodge would only be for a limited number of things, and wouldnt apply to stuff like dots that are on you or pulsing aoe damage. If you’re saying make it dodge but with a 100% chance as compensation, then please no.
So one of the downsides of Netherwalk is now also on darkness (which the DH can’t leave), and any raid member in it also has that downside, AND since it moves with the DH for them to do their rotation the DH can accidentally put it on people that intentionally stayed out of darkness to avoid that downside. I would really not want that.
alright, but the numbers dont lie. people like yourself however do.
delusions dont fix bugs.
We should also be able to attack while in nether walk. Most other classes can press their big immunity and keep damaging the mobs but it completely takes DH out of doing any damage.
I like the above idea for Darkness.
You are correct. I got it mixed up. I actually meant increase the chance to avoid all incoming attack to 90-100%.
“Giving specifically the DH a window of time to run out of the darkness without losing its effect” that is excellent idea.
I suspect the reason we cannot attack in Netherwalk because it is 100% damage immunity. Unless you change Netherwalk to 35-50% damage reduction, then you could attack. But that just overlap with BLUR.
My 621 DH just got out-dps’d by a 613 Ret Paladin. sigh
You realize statements like this are completely pointless unless you show you know how to play your DH properly correct?
https://mythicstats.com/dps?dungeon=&period=984
Just a quick look at the damage stats is enough to see that DH is the worst class compared to all the others.
People who run +12 keys are, in my opinion, players who know how to use their class moderately well.
The problem is that it’s happening with brand new pallies that aren’t even playing correctly. The low effort/high result power that pallies have now is astonishing, and if they actually do know what they’re doing they can only be beaten by a few classes in aoe damage, and DH is not one of those classes.
Let’s not ask for too much now, we’re not paladins lol
Longdale just said in an interview
" leave no players behind "
As a DH player I do feel left behind.
And I can turn on Jedith’s stream and see him topping the charts in a lot of the dungeon runs he’s doing. Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. That person also has green parses on their druid, so I’m not likely to believe they suddenly learned on to play the DH properly.
Jedith is not good at dh tho. What are we qualifying as good
So, someone who isn’t even that good at DH, is routinely beating some of the meta classes. But yet I’m supposed to just accept Larry, Moe, and Curly when they show up here claiming to lose to rets 20 ilvl’s below them? You literally just made my point for me.
DH certainly needs attention, but not pushing back on anecdotal drivel like this is how you continue to get ignored.
I have 3 dhs in the top 50 of shuffle, miserable the whole way through as much as I love double jumping, its bad bro, get over it, keep shilling priest and ret lmao
