No. Make havoc as good as it was in BFA again. 40% leech with talents, stacking vers, huge damage, simple rotation, blade dance dodge, worthless mastery, the works.
its not too hard to have the support options for a tank or healer. like evoker and shaman already have things like hero/ lust Pally and Guardian can off heal a single other party member in a pinch. DK Druid, Pally all have Brez, party buff trinkets exist. its not asking too much to have party buffs in mind for other roles. and if its “smart buffs” there isnt too much to think about. just, “here is a kill window, using this buff will make everyones numbers go burr” which prob wouldn’t change the play style even in solo content. just the force magnitude of buffing 1 players vs 5.
I’ve always wished resto druid had a talent build that was more damage oriented.
It’d be cool to see what they could do for demon hunters in this regard.
It would also add a reason for people to play another healer and help fill that gap in pugs. Plus it would finally give DHs a 3rd spec. I was a little surprised Evoker got its 3rd before DH.
I like this idea. Leave the haste/crit for havoc. Haste/vers for veng. and whatever with mastery for a healing 3rd spec.
Blizzard made.it clear that there’s a big difference between support “perks” and a support “role”.
Paladins for example have a ton of support tools, but they’re not a support spec the way aug is.
Aug dps functions entirely upon properly buffing your group mates.
Adding that responsibility on top of tanking or keeping you group alive won’t work.
This is why it’s a dps role, it works better that way.
okay but then what happens when you get 3 Augmentation Evokers in your group?
They all buff each other?
That was actually a point of interest during 10.1.5 dev.
Like what happens when you have multiple support specs in a group.
So I guess they just buff each other.
Aug had an ability that buffs some of their spells depending if their in a group or raid group.
May they could get something similar if they’re paired with fellow support specs.
Something like “honor among support bots”, lol
guess the only way to really find out is to grab 3 evoker players as a tank and see what happens when you have 1 aug and 2 dev. vs 3 Dev or 3 Aug etc.
like, do you get diminishing returns to a point that is significant. or is it as negligible as a 10 ilvl diff between players.
do the buffs stack? or do they replace.
It should be a spec built around throwing your Warglaives.
I guess we just have to wait and see for the data to come in.
From what I understand, aug is like 30% personal dmg and 70% dmg through group buffs.
So like I guess I would assume if you have 3 aug, they would pick up the slack from each other? I doubt they’ll be DRs since that would effectively nerf the spec just by playing with multiple of its own kind.again, I think if they get a passive that buffs their personal dmg per each support spec in group it could work better
A healer spec like the Disciple of Kain, from the old Warhammer Online, would be great.
if there is no cap… 18 Aug evokers all buff FOTM at the same time and they 1 shot the boss. /theory
Demon hunters can heal by pulling or absorbing damage from their party members then using abilities to heal themselves up–like a fel-warden or fel-guide that uses others to track and hunt demons.
They can buff leech and damage avoidance. They already have darkness, sigils, health orbs, etc. A lot of abilities that can be used as a healer spec are already in their kit.
It’d be fun.
From what I saw in the ptr, the buffs ain’t so game breaking.
We just have to wait and see.
DH just doesn’t fit healing thematically. Melee dos support would be perfect.
Being buffed by void and fel.
The latest speculation has been that DH will get a 3rd spec but it will be “void” based.
Potentially just another dps spec though.
That sounds pretty fun to me.
Void melee support with two hander like Allari the soul eater
3rd spec: Sure, absolutely. Healing? Probably not. Lots of DH’s have been asking for a full ranged spec and that could be cool (and also possibly give another class access to bows/guns?).
Ability to summon: Ye Dogs yes. Please. Small raid groups already have enough problems, please spread this out just a smidge.
This actually peaks my interest. Would be cool to have another class/spec start using these…
I’d rather have a Shaman tank, it uses the elements as shields to protect and deflect for itself and others. A healer DH doesn’t make any sense.
