I agree that in terms of features and gameplay, DF knocked it out of the park. I love the return of talent trees, I love the new loot system of upgrading pieces on various tracks, I love being able to craft high-end gear and the freedom that entails (though the broader profession system generally I’m still lukewarm on), I like the easier alt catch-up systems (and how it will be even easier next expansion), I like not feeling like I have to grind every week, but when I’m ready to grind I can quickly get a character up to par if I put in the effort.
The setting and story were a lot more hit or miss for me. Dragonflight had some of my favorite questlines ever (Dragonmaw orc in Ruby Life Shrine, the whole blue dragon questline across the world, the black dragonflight choosing a new aspect and everything that entailed). A lot of other stuff struck me as feeling really different from the Warcraft I was used to, though. I don’t want to harp on it too much, because a lot of my specific complaints could cause internet arguments, and in any case none of those complaints were severe enough to turn me away from the game. Suffice to say, a lot of Dragonflight looked and sounded like it was designed and written by the sort of people who use the word “adulting” in their every day speech.
Either way, Dragonflight felt more like a side-story than most expansions, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Was probably a good jumping-on point for people. We may end up wanting more lighthearted content over the next decade, as future releases are going to be dominated by the super serious le epic Worldsoul trilogy.

I don’t like DF at all I think it’s pretty terrible in pretty much every regard. They’re going to have a hard time beating some of the older expansions(before Legion). BfA was pretty bad but at least it turned around a bit toward the end. SL was not good but it had some redeeming aspects to it. Hard to think of anything good with DF right now but maybe in a couple of years I can think of something.
It’s just WoW minus the borrowed power of recent expansions. Not sure how it can be an out of the park homerun by going back to basics and removing more than it added.
Not saying it isn’t an improvement over recent examples, but “out of the park” is overblown praise of an average expansion from 10 years ago both gameplay and systems wise. That’s just recency bias blowing it out of proportion.
Which I don’t “blame” people for, I just remind them of. Try to put things in perspective and DF is really just the bare minimum that we should have been getting for a decade.
I disagree. Neither artifact weapons (Legion), azerite powers (BFA), or covenant abilities (Shadowlands) added as much as the current Dragonflight talent trees. The talent trees on their own, in my view, added more than we would have gotten with a borrowed power mechanic.
Likewise, the gearing is the best it’s ever been. Leveling up gear on the various tracks is a sea change in how gearing works, as well as maintaining the viability of crafted gear all throughout the expansion.
I’m sorry if the game didn’t meet your expectations, but for me it’s head and shoulders above recent previous offerings.

The talent trees had to strip things like interrupts from being baseline just to exist.
They tried. Maybe could even say they were tryhard with talent trees. But they didn’t add much.
And they just rolled covenant abilities into them to top it off lol.

Guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Hopefully you enjoy TWW more.

Did they not strip interrupts (among other things) to fill talent trees and roll covenant abilities in for the same purpose? We even have legion legendary abilities in those same trees. lol

Some interrupts are in talent trees, and some covenant abilities are in talent trees. These make up a tiny percentage of the total number of talents in the tree. I remain unconvinced by your argument, but you’re welcome to it.

So, yes, they did just populate talent trees with baseline abilities, covenant abilities, legion legendary abilities, and so on, using decade old templates to fill the rest. Glad we agree to disagree on that.

I’m immune to gaslighting. I’m sorry you didn’t like them, but I remain unconvinced by your whining about it. Carry on as you need though.
Seems you have an affinity for using it more than an immunity to it.

And overall in this X-Pac, because the NPCs that appeared there were completel de-tusked. >:\

Everyone got turned to be super lame. Nobody in there had any real personality, maybe besides Zandalari girl who was bossing around other kids.
Dude, if you trolled any harder you’d live under a bridge.
The main storyline of Dragonflight (or at least what I’ve finished of it, which is basically the leveling experience and first little bit after it) was a big miss for me. It was too difficult to follow; a lot of the big moments were too dependent on stuff you are expected to have learned elsewhere, like buried in the sea of quest text that is 99% irrelevant (but heaven forbid if you missed that 1%). I felt completely lost and clueless half of the time. It also feels like most of it won’t even matter come next expansion. I felt like continuing it would have been pointless, both because I was completely lost and because it probably won’t matter next expansion.
I did like the Gilneas Reclamation questline that they added semi-recently, though. It didn’t have any of the problems I just mentioned.
I’m trolling by you and others dodging the evidence laid before you by talking about trolling, and scores, and buzzwords? Nice try.
SL > DF for the reasons I mentioned above that you’re afraid of.

Warcraft has always been mediocre, but it didn’t get unbearable until WoD.
