DF TESTERS - What is your opinion of the UI so far?

Hi!

I’m not testing DF, I would like your opinion of how the UI is. Could you see yourself playing the game without any addons?

you can pop in ptr and see for you’re self its up on ptr
and it a lil better i do not need bag on
but the bank will be the same

action bars are a hit with me

I’ll still use my addons, because it’s basic compared to what I need. But it has decent options for those that were fine using the base UI.

It’ll take some work, but so far I’m rather liking it. Needs some improvement to chat windows though.

I like it a lot.

Wish we could make more bars though.

However, I don’t see myself playing without add-ons. The inability to customize enemy nameplates meaningfully, the inability to clone and customize buff and debuff bars, and the inability to create useful visual weak auras leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, some enemy weak auras like tracking deadly enemy casts is just too important when you’re fighting a pack with like 15 mobs and certain spells getting off will result in a 100% wipe.

Definitely this. It’s missing a ton of customization still so I’ll be sticking with my addons.

I see,

I was hoping they implemented their own WA or something… thats a bummer. Looks like I’ll have to use addons then

It’s an improvement from what we have now, but I use a lot of UI addons to customize and I’ll stick to those. It will be nice though for things like beta, ptr or a new patch that breaks a lot of them to be able to roughly approximate what I have now instead of the old stock UI.

Still no snap to grid right? That needs to happen. Or I hope there’s some sort of addon that you can use which has that functionality or lets you set the location of ui elements based on coordinates.

I love the new UI, though I wish we could add more action bars.

It’s nice being able to move some things, but infuriating that there’s no grid snapping or ability to nudge things by pixel.

Also it looks soulless and generic, with the only remaining WoW flavoring being the gold dragon and optional gryphon/wyverns.

It still really bothers me that the Target frame doesn’t mirror the Player frame visually.

It’s great so far. Just needs some adjustments.

We need the ability to move the XP bar and reduce padding even further between buttons.

Nope. No snapping, and not “move frame by 1 unit” incrementing either.

The new UI is, to me, a very good first draft. I do worry if Blizzard thinks this is a suitable alternate. It moved the needle for newer players somewhat but it is still lagging behind custom UIs by quite a bit.

Its still buggy for druids as of writing this where the form bar while snap auto hide under action bar 2. It is also impossible to create the old UI and even with all options enabled we are missing 10 action bar slots in total.

Not perfect, but a huge improvement over the original UI.

There is. Go onto the PTR and see how it is and give feedback.

No new toolbars, no new information displayed.

shrug in the end as far as I can tell it’s nothing more than a few things resized and repositioned.

It’s happening

Without any addons. no… without any UI addons? While the new ui is quite an improvement Dominos still is superior in that it offers more bars and snaps that the new UI does not.
