It may be too early to ask with a lot of tuning left, but what specs are looking genuinely fun?
ymmv but i’m currently intending to play arms, outlaw, balance, shadow and preservation this season, time permitting. my friends have said great things about the hunter and shaman trees too but they don’t appeal to me personally yet
Dk got a lot of really cool stuff I’m happy about
Sp rogue dh warlock warrior ww all seem super strong just from doing skirms
i had most fun on a gnome mw, it has kick now so i felt like i could actually impact the game in a significant way, roll incap > sleep > sweep then follow them around waiting for kick. Cacoon applies enveloping and renewing for free and does a lot more absorb now.
i didn’t love any of the dps except frost dk but it plays literally exactly the same as slands, just tankier
Does MW do any significant damage…or any impactful damage?
I didn’t test fistweave build enough to fairly say because I doubt i will ever value the traditionally minute dps from it over being able to avoid cc by max ranging
from what i could glean you will be occasionally rolling in and RSK after a sweep, but not worth to do more than that. mw will never do dps again until burst damage is nerfed significantly, healers just cant risk eating mad cc jumping into melee range
Has anyone tried marks or surv?
There’s two kinds of people in this world:
-
People who play Shaman.
-
People who chose poorly.
On a serious note, I’ve been told Resto/Ele look fire. Enhance may, but I duno anyone who plays it.
Right now, it seems like all healers are doing quite a bit of damage… but with tuning still in the early stages, it’s hard to say what will stick.
With current tuning, I’ve seen Shamans, Evokers, and Druids all hit 100k+ as healers. Most monks in solo shuffle tend to channel soothing at 40 yards, so idk what kind of numbers they’re seeing.
Anyone know if Hunter is any good on the beta?
BM pumps really hard with the bleed build
what about mm and surv? any playstyle differences?
I haven’t messed with SV. Not a massive playstyle difference with MM from SL but it feels way behind BM.
Interesting. Thank you bert
i played like 10 games of surv it’s the same pretty much. it’s strong, you spam bombs
How is dps evoker, doesn’t need to be great but is it interesting?
I got hit with a 130k flame breath into a 150k living flame through a wall last night, then he recalled me (basically puts you that hp 5 seconds later) at 2% and killed me.
In my mind it would pair better with melee than casters am I right? Not sure how the spec works too much but I plan on playing one
It needs something that has very strong peels and constant damage so something like a feral would be crazy with it. It has potential to play triangle with a dot class like aff/ele or go class like spriest but i’m not sure how that would really work out.
The experience we have on beta atm during rated solo shuffle really kinda sucks to work out different metas due to no tuning done and no real match making. That and also healers bar hpriest actually have no healing so dps generally just 1 tap people.
Disconnected facts
DPS should not be 1tapping anybody ever
Hps will always correspond to DPS and vice versa but there is no good reason to lock hp at a number small enough that either of them can shift an entire health bar in either direction. This is the single biggest bad move they made coming from bfa to sl
