I’m not advocating free hand outs but this isn’t true. I’m close to hitting my personal gear ceiling but I won’t stop playing. I’ll be playing alts or doing old content. Once an alt hits that ceiling, I’ll start that process again.

But there are people asking for exactly that, you can find them in this very same thread, and also in others similar in nature. Of course, as with all internet debates, no side is just an hive mind sharing the same ideas, there are different views.
I’m all for more fun and engaging solo content. As you said, most people engage in solo play, even hardcore players. My argument is against making it a “forth pillar”, meaning being it a way to obtain the very same gear you now obtain through harder and progressive content.
Right now, you can obtain some pretty powerful gear through solo and casual play only. I estimate you can gear yourself almost up to heroic raiding level.
As for the grind. I think that solo content will never be really challenging in this game, apart for very specific instances like the mage tower. Not without a whole overhaul of the way combat works, which I don’t see happening. So, the only other ways to balance solo progression is either through making it a long grind or timegating it.
Right now it’s extremely easy, but there’s at least some long grinds involved that keep the rewards from being just automatically earned by everyone. That sort of compensates the fact you can get such good gear without participating in harder group content.

They can make a scaling mode like mythic that gets more difficult. Visions of N’xoth and torgast already this. Scaling difficult should give scaling awards. That is shown in all 3 pillars.
Adding fourth for solo players wouldnt be bad.
It would mean more players being able to enjoy the game the way they like.
Raiders feeling pressured into doing other things has happened since the game started. Honestly Im tired of the gane catering to them and making the gane less fun for other people.
Solo modes are like Visions of N"zoth, Torghast, Brawlers guild, Mage Tower, Path of Ascension, solo scenarios.
Them award scaling gear ilvl rewards would be great.
Having to do all the gear grinding in group content feels annoying. Especially dealing with people who trash your preffered game modes.
It would be a waste of dev time as the only people that would be doing it would be the people who are forced into it like raiders and key runners just like choreghast was.
The majority of solo players have zero interest in hard content.
Can this be a little more “I myself know what everyone thinks” ?

Taking a lot of sources besides this very forum, Torghast was a sucess in terms of solo player engagement. I wonder in what ways you contact reality.

SL has no Maw or Korthia flying and by the time you get Flying in old zones you’re already done with them.
Ergo SL is garbage for solo play

It’s based off of the history of hard solo content in this game. Anytime hard solo content has been released the solo crowd complain about it until it gets nerfed.
Where’s your source on this as torghast has been a failure.

Because while you may not consider it a failure the majority of people do find it a failure and achievements (or lack there of) show torghast is a failure.
So my question is where is your source?
Is all hype from when the expansion launched. Originally the beta version of torghast was highly praised. The changed version we got in SL was actually hated. It was also complained about heavily very early in SL and has the name choreghast for a reason.

No Flying greatly contributed to the world being dead in those expansion areas and made the experience worse for everyone.
