DF abandons WoW’s solo playerbase... but why?

Well, again just my opinion, this expansion is just about 3 things. The dragon gliding gimmick, a profession revamp, and bringing back talent trees. Tbh bringing back the talent trees was the best thing they did. Even though interrupts should have been baseline imo.

It’s a huge shame they did an unbelievably poor job implementing many of them.

In true Blizzard fashion.

The craziest thing to me, is still how everybody has the same number of points to SPEND, but every tree has a different number of nodes to spend them in.

Sometimes dramatically so.

Which means some specs can get almost everything, while others can get very little.

If you do plan on grinding all the old reps, the Human 10% bonus to rep racial is quite useful.

If you plan on doing old content in WoD, the Horde and Alli garrisons and starting zones look and feel quite different, so you might want to consider that, too.

But again, the most important thing is probably to pick your favorite race, or at least a race and class combo that you identify with.

Its far from elitist to expect people who did harder content to get better gear. If anything ur expecting equal outcome without equal work. An claiming otherwise is as before a weak base for an argument. So outside of transmog as atm I pvp so any world or solo content I got at it in ilv375 which is around solo player ilv, what exactly are you missing gear wise??

Um, im solo only and have a 387 ilvl. The weekly boxes are starting to hand me 379-392 gear now, and the the same range with epic pve/pvp quests.

I do think a proper solo-rated personal score system would have been better for battlegrounds and not arena but ill take the small steps.

Dropping the premade groups for mythic 0 dungeons should have been done already. Its just silly at this point to keep that requirement. They were never hard.

Oh I like this one.

Mythic BoD soloable :

It’s also weird how some specs get things like interrupts and builders / spenders baseline, while other specs have to spend points for them.

The design philosophy seems to be different for each tree.

That’s the first and easiest boss though. Have you tried Jadefire masters, Grong, Opulence, Conclave, Rastakhan, Mekkatorque, Jaina? If you haven’t please come back when you do and let me know how you failed on Opulence.

Most solo players are asking for slightly inferior rewards for a slightly higher time investment—not equal rewards for less time investment.

Solo players should be able to earn 398 Normal iLvl from actual content with some time investment. This wouldn’t be as good as the Legion / BfA era, but it would be on par with the 9.1 Korthia gear.

People can’t keep claiming that DF is so much more rewarding for solo players than SL was, when the numbers tell a different story.

Exactly. Agree with the other person in that they did a poor job at the way they were implemented. Making some of the class interrupts baseline could have freed up some points for players to put into other things. Anyhow having trees again was a positive imo.

The numbers are skewed due to the factors I listed in another post, less players due to:
Covid restrictions basically gone
Shadowlands was awful so it followed a bad expac.
The lawsuits I mean… ya those matter
Its also a 20yr old mmo
Also losing China as a whole.
So with those things going on ya… I could see why lack of SP content less funding overall.
It also doesnt help that we just got off SL having a lot of forced WQs an rep grinds so in typical Activision/Blizzard knee jerked an pulled back the wrong way.

Are you trolling???

Like, are you actually trolling or something?

If you disagree thats fine.

There’s disagreeing and there’s calling you out for being BLATANTLY wrong.

There is absolutely no world in which Dragonflight is a step back from Shadowlands, and this is coming from someone who LIKED SL.

I doubt that.

They are just another poster that needs blizzard to tell them how to play.

If they don’t have a quest or item that says “farm this for eternity” they have a mental breakdown.

I’m the one against long arduous and mind numbing grinds though?

Considering they construe raid catch-up patches as “solo content” and appear to be judging Dragonflight on release to the standard of expansions at their end? I don’t think it is.
