DF abandons WoW’s solo playerbase... but why?

Because he’s a proven chronic liar?

I’m actually looking to make a new character who is a soloist. Zero group content in the open world or instances. No dungeons, no raids, no events involving me grouping up. I want to experience the game from a different standpoint. Would work on Loremaster and pet battles and collecting stuff and reputation. And probably RP if I make it on one of my Horde servers.

My friend suggested hunter. Any other good classes to experience the game solo on? Viability not a problem, just looking for nice perks.

If this is true then wow has 1000000000000 subs going off of keys done and raid bosses killed.

He reads the room (or interviewer) and tells people what he thinks they want to hear.

He’s been doing it for years. Lots of ‘famous people’ do it.

Because having to PUG just to do open world rares and elite quests (just like you PUG a raid or dungeon) was somehow supposed to satisfy the need for “solo content” while also simultaneously appeasing the elitists who claim that solo progression should not be allowed in WoW because it’s some kind of MMO tradition.

At this point im not even surprised. may as well unsub and come back in 10.3 when they make the game fun again. like it is every expansion since bfa

They want to have their cake and eat it too.

Solo players can’t be both a “vast majority” and the game be dying at the same time. The data we have puts them as mutually exclusive.

Cause he is stupid and clearly dosent know what “solo” means cause the VAST majority of this game is MMO based content. not solo

He is the director. He has all the stats at his disposal though. unless he is willfully ignorant

Pretty sure Ion includes LFR into Solo play.

Probably even pug keys.

you know i could have the stats my self see that its mostly group content and go

“its mostly solo players”

Which is dumb cuase you still gotta group to do that even if its LFR

Ion played us solo enthusiasts like a fiddle.

Honestly, I can’t wait for him to finally move on from WoW.

Yeah it’s weird. They claim that both

“they pay the bills” and “Only 1% runs keys and raids stop catering to them”

Like we know keys done and raids cleared. If “group players” were the 1% wow would have half the earths population playing.

I think a truely solo player is so unbelievably negligible to the pop it would be like blizzard removing a bush in val if they all left.

Hunter and Warlock are good for current content because of the tank pets, or any class with a tank spec that you enjoy.

I like Arcane Mage for old content because the portals are useful, and Arcane Explosion is super handy for clearing out old dungeons and raids.

Most importantly, pick a class that has armor types that you like, as you will be collecting a lot of appearances.

There’s also a huge difference between the playerbase in the first month of an expansion, and the playerbase for the rest of the expansion.

Historically, about half the people who buy an expansion level up a character, look around for a couple weeks, then quit until the next expansion.

They’re just “box sale” customers. They have no intention of playing for the 2 years.

Are most of those players people who rarely do group content? Almost certainly. I would be astonished if it was otherwise.

But once they quit (and they WILL quit, no matter what), the people who are left are much more MMO oriented (meaning social, multi-player gameplay).

At some point, you’ll need to realise you’re not Kirito and this isn’t Sword Art Online.

Well the least they can do is tune old raids to be soloable. And I mean BFA and shadowlands.

It’s funny 'cause arcane mage was my main last expansion and also what I messed around with, so I know exactly what you mean. I should definitely pick based on armor type however!

I’m pretty stoked. Still not sure what faction I’d like to play.
