MMORPG armchair “experts” have been claiming for a few years now that Vanilla WoW was so successful precisely because it forced solo-minded players to group up. Now, devs are trying to create as much friction as possible for solo-minded players, but remove all “chores” for group players.
What, you mean that solo players can’t possibly be unhappy having nothing to do but dig in hundreds of dirt piles for vendor trash?
This is just ubsurd, let me guess you don’t consider solo shuffle “solo” gameplay.
You see it doesn’t actually matter what blizzard does for you you’ll never be happy. You want progression or the feeling of progression even though you can’t do anything with the gear except finish your dailys faster lol
How about you give constructive criticism and tell blizzard what they need to do to appease you the hungry for content but I don’t wanna play with anybody else MMO player. How about you just go to a game that supports your playstyle like OSRS? We know you won’t do any of those things.
You count doing rep farms in TBC as supporting your playstyle but not in dragonflight? Rep farms don’t count somehow?
The reality is there is plenty of content you can engage in as a solo player in dragonflight. Rep farms, World Quests, Pet battles, Professions, Dragon races, Gold farming, Primal storm events, Dragon cosmetics collecting, Xmog runs, Mount runs or even achievements!
Then add on top of that if you are willing YES AS A SOLO PLAYER, use the I or H button (very nuanced take I know) and you can que Rated or unrated Battlegrounds, solo shuffle, arena, raids, m+ all of the game is available to you as well through the group finder you don’t even need friends or anything.
Dragonflight being non-solo friendly is honestly a laughable position. This is the first expansion where you can get TIER GEAR without ever stepping into an instance by farming Primal Storms and using the catalyst to convert it to tier.
You can get full normal equivalent gear in general just from farming super rares as they spawn. Are both of these more efficient in a group? Sure, but so is everything anyone could ever do ever.
This thread is silly. You should feel silly for typing it all out. Solo play in Shadowlands were a set of rigid chores to do every day. Dragonflight is far more free-form and takes far less time to accomplish things.
The bias to assign negativity to recent content is rotting the collective mind of this game’s playerbase.
Yes, a mind numbing grind that takes three weeks to gear a character compared to being able to get a full tier bonus on four characters within a week. Massively rewarding, ha,ha.
This is why the storms aren’t really solo content. The elites aren’t tuned for a solo undergeared DPS toon to defeat reasonably.
You can’t even upgrade to tier without doing “group objectives” through the weekly quest. Granted, you can solo some of the events by tagging, by devs clearly intend for there to be no more solo gameplay at endgame other than the minigame world quests.
Probably just gonna take another year long break until this expansion is over, if I even decide to keep playing after that point. Was already bored after a week of playing dragonflight. This “raid or die” mythic+ garbage and ridiculous unbalance in random pvp is awful. The disdain for a large portion of the playerbase is getting old. The removal of daily world quests was beyond insulting and the justification was beyond stupid. Thankfully my sub runs out in about 6 days.
I did it all in one week, on four characters. got a full tier bonus on those 4 characters. in a week. And it was fun to do. grinding mobs is not fun. It’s a punishment.
