True, but that is a big IF. I have to assume blizzard is partly successful because they know what they are doing. It could be that they got this one wrong, but employees should negotiate with their employers or quit. This rage posting about your boss online should be, and often is, instantly fireable.
Can’t and won’t disagree with discretion if you’re still employed by the company you’re ragging on. That’s called being wise. I’d wait until I’m out before I shine the spotlight on iffy business.
Which of these options allows you to fire bad employees who won’t adapt without catching a wrongful termination suit or going afoul of HR. I work in HR, and the moment someone sees they are getting fired they suddenly appeal to a protected class identity to try and be untouchable. That happens about 80% of the time in my experience. Thankfully, it’s so rampant that HR programs are becoming aware of this hustle and sift through the chaff to punish real discrimination (which is abhorrent).
I’ll take things that you just made up for 500, Alex.
Also it’s fine if you want to treat your employees terribly. You will get what you deserve. If you believe all these people are a bad fit and you can’t find anyone who IS a good fit. I guess you’ll just have to fit the employees available better or just not have a business. The world doesn’t owe businesses quality cheap labor. Just like businesses don’t owe the world a great paycheck for terrible work.
It needs to be a mutually beneficial relationship.
Awkward situation since I don’t know who to side with. The industry has made it a priority to hire crybabies that piss and moan about everything while they themselves treat others like crap. Then again, the heads of the industry are scummy, too.
That is true. WFH is a privilege, not a right, so it doesn’t matter if you have access ‘to all the labor markets’. Employers reward people who show up for work more than those that don’t.
i use a “telephone” which is a device that allows me to call up my team members and ask questions. they also have one and can use it to call and ask me questions.
Just say your an over-emotional demagogue who can’t win arguments with facts or logic and who probably engages in DDOS attacks when you don’t get your way, or who attacks people who disagree with you in public.
i don’t think you understand. some of us have skills and experience that allow us to command a premium and/or look for positions that offer certain things. it’s not a case of “work remote = get paid less”, it’s a case of “i bring X to my role, if you want to hire me i will be working remotely”
If I had to pick between two people with the same skills and the difference is one wants to sit at home while the other is willing to work in the building, I’m definitely not picking the former.
