That’s hilarious!
One thing I always hated was my GI Joe were too big for Star Wars and too small for He-Man.

Devs should just play their own game so they have some firsthand knowledge of what they’re tweeking. The art department can only carry you so far.
It’s honestly sad.
Because here’s my one burning question that I really want to know…
”As a content creator, which part of your job is your favorite? Is it designing the raid encounters? Is it designing new zones? Is it writing quests?”
I genuinely wanna know!
Do you remember those Q&A things Ion and (what was his name, I think he was Lore?) had where they took a number of supplied questions and responded to them as a way of doing regular communications with players? How well did they go?
So they stopped doing them. Were they useful? I don’t know that they were all that useful but at least they provided an option for some feedback from players which would get something from them in response. Now there is zero interaction (aside from selected interviews with podcasters and content creators in controlled situations) - they even stopped doing the Q&A panels at Blizzcon and replaced them with “give us questions and we’ll make a video”. Face to face question and response seems to be too hard.
they tried this back during…mists/wod and it didnt go to well. especially after the flying fiasco. omg that put a stop to it right quick. most of the questions were about flying which they either deflected or ignored.
The GD forums talking to Devs would be like a child talking to politician.
I’d imagine being constantly told by players that their Class/Spec is a “hot mess” and then being expected to not only know what the player was talking about, but know how to quickly fix it (or just being accused of not caring) is probably the reason they don’t.
What should they say?
You get patch notes. They make changes based on feedback, and usually notate it.
Do you want tea and crumpets?
They don’t even read the bug reports submitted.
Like how there was a memory for since DF beta in 2022 that involved the crafting result mini window.
It was a 1 line coding issue where a dev forgot to clear out an array. Players found out it’s getting patched in 11.0.7 only after someone who was personal friends with the dev responsible for such told them in their private hangout discord. It was fixed within minutes of being notified, slated for 11.0.7, but present since 10.0 beta. They absolutely do not read bug reports.
You think I’m joking?
Who said you were?
You’re misrepresenting the truth, since this wasn’t reported in the way you’re pretending it was, and you seem to have no clue how troubleshooting works, but you didn’t even give people time to say you were joking.
Also all programs leak memory. Saying something has a memory leak is about the least descriptive thing you can say in a vacuum to a developer.
Show up anonymous and tell us how hard we suck and how ungrateful we are and just lets loose on us.
I’d cry. No need, man. No need.
Wasn’t responding to you.
It was a generic “cannot believe this actually happened” sort of remark.
It was a one line fix, and it was precisely figured out over a year before it was patched. It was reduced to such an extent, that as soon as a developer was privately notified on discord, they fixed it within minutes, according to that reddit post.
This is how we know they don’t read the forums and only browse specific discords.
Yes it was.
It was cross posted and bumped monthly for 2 years between the GD and bug report threads. Explicitly because it was a 1 line bug that we knew could be resolved within minutes once a dev actually read the posts.
Also the OP is my old forum toon before I swapped after I stopped playing on it, and made meow my main.
Yeah, and I bet that line was just blaring with alarm signs and tons of laymen from the forums screaming and pointing at it, right?
Or you could read the thread you posted beyond the very first comment on it. The OP knows what he’s talking about just fine, this is not unusual or anything malicious or lazy from Blizzard.
Software development isn’t plug and play.
“Dev’s should come chill & chat with us! It’d be great.”
Meanwhile in almost every other thread, forum posters be like:
We can’t even speak to ourselves respectfully.
Hey guys, Dev’s aint so bad
Who said that?
I am losing my mind trying to remember that cheeky moonkin avatar CM that trolled forum posters… I want to say its Pav as a nickname but I can’t find their name. I’m pretty sure they got fired for their posting and I loved them
Edit: Found him it’s “Pavonum”. God I miss when the blues would post on the forums for fun
Pavonum was a employee who worked in customer service department until December 28, 2007. His avatar was an owlbeast native to the Hinterlands. Pavonum was known for being verbose, using signatures from foreign languages (often Latin or French), and enjoying tea. His penchant for disassembling ill-considered arguments, as well as decimating attempts at deception with piercing facts and vicious rhetoric, inspired the term “Pavowned” for any occasion where would-be pretenders were swept away in a deluge of words, statistics, and collective disdain from regulars.
Oh I forgot money is all that matters lol. Gonna be hard to compete with 90$ mounts. And also yeah, Path of Exile does make money and they also deliver a good product, wow that must be difficult.
Yeah bro, wanting to hide everything because you’re embarrassed is really “a grand conspiracy”.
Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail. Like I care about being embarrassed on here.
If I were a dev I wouldn’t want to talk to us either.
