4th week into season still only 1 pvp hotfix to 1 class so far, wee woo
Or… it’s the holiday season? You know, the time that most people have off?
The subscription charging department seems to be working tho
yeah and its a small indy company with only like 15 employees, so understandably, all functions grind to a halt during the holiday season.
In all seriousness, i worked at a transportation company 1/40th blizzards size, and working during holidays was exceedingly common.
There is no way in hell blizz can’t find people to work over the holidays. Thats a really vapid excuse for a company so large.
This isn’t a “ma and pa” local plumbing buisness with one company vehicle.
I believe one of two options:
- blizzard is lazy and just doesn’t care about this game
- they are waiting, testing, and working all their buffs/nerfs, and are going to drop a giant hammer of a pvp balance patch either next tuesday or the one after
They’re a multi billion company and we’re still paying for their service though ![]()
I really really hope you’re right, but knowing blizz the posibility of that happening is close to 0
Do we think maybe there’s a difference between that and game design?
Of course they can find people to work during the holidays. But when it comes to something such as game balance, would you rather have the entire team working on it or just a few people that volunteered to work Christmas?
Its the holiday season expect some changes after the new year/ first arena cup.
As outlined in the EULA, your subscription fee only gives you access to the servers. That is the only service that you pay for.
some of y’all either don’t have a real job or work crappy ones with subpar benefits. This time of year most offices in software development are a ghost town. Especially in a year like this. You have to remember that throughout this entire pandemic most people in IT never actually stopped working and still had to meet deadlines despite being 100% remote and all the slowdowns that can come with that. So yeah people taking off. Not only is this normally the case but in a year like this I imagine it’s a ghost town at blizzard right now. I know it is at my job. And there is nothing wrong with that.
That’s perfectly fine, don’t release a massive game few weeks before your turning your office into a ghost town for 2 weeks then lol. You can’t just release such a big game with millions of players and leave it without tuning in the first weeks (when it’s most important) just because it’s christmas. (may i add they have been doing pve hotfixes these past weeks without any issue, it’s only pvp that hasn’t gotten any attention)
I thought they didn’t care about pvp though?
Dang the devs can’t enjoy the holidays?
Aren’t we beating a dead horse here? They have like 1 person who works on PvP so we need to give them time.
I think you are being overly optimistic that they have even one person designated for pvp.
I think Chris K. said they have 2 people but then he quit so maybe 1 unless they shut the department down since then.
How come subs never take a holiday??
Why would they? Subs only grant you access to the servers. Did you have access to the servers this past holiday week?
Everybody keeps saying this but you know how many days off I had for the holidays?
ONE.
Then back to work like normal the very next day. This is pretty standard in America. For people who actually have jobs that is.
Chicken Finger Subs
because its cheaper to let them go without pay for the holidays than pay them a holiday bonus.
