This is great! But please reconsider keeping guilds single faction. I’d pay for a faction/race change if I was allowed to be alliance as someone with a horde guild/friends
I’m only repeating what the post says
I’m personally glad it is an opt-in system though.
Imagine me and you, and you and me!
So happy TOGETHER!
Nice, now the next step is putting the “RPG” back into this MMORPG. PLEASE get back to designing content that isn’t all about rushing through it as quickly as possible, racing against a clock for fear of losing your rewards, or making every encounter a DPS race before it one-shots the entire group.
This 100%. I would love to play Alliance again full time but I specifically don’t because the vast majority of Mythic raiding occurs on the Horde.
I actually think this may help quite a bit in unranked, honestly.
There’s a trickle down effect of player skill going on, where the bulk of the rated ladder is Horde right now due to either the orc racial, or for connections. In randoms, as people return back to Alliance, those higher skill players will mingle in - just as they are on Horde now - with casuals, leading to a more even experience.
It might be a rough start due to the mindset of “Alliance always loses epics” but I have full faith this is about to get better.
So close to greatness. What’s the reasoning behind restricting guilds to same faction? Couldn’t the guild leader opt in like a group finder leader can opt in to “faction only”?
Holy cow. Thank you
HELL YEAH BABY!!! im so excited for this
Technically for management purposes they did say there would be cross faction communities.
death of warcraft
OMG I MISSED THAT!!! Thats amazing!!!
Please ensure we can use dungeon summoning stones/warlock summons with our cross-faction teammates when this feature is released.
Thank you.
Wow, these devs really care nothing for the integrity of the game.
then what’s the point of having the Red vs Blue Factions anymore?
This is quite the shift from the previous tone-deaf response “This is called World of WARcraft” by Blizzard in the past.
I can certainly see the allure. Especially when some servers are losing guild members who shift to the opposite faction thinking their problems will be magically fixed by doing so (only, of course, to later realize this wasn’t the solution to the problem they thought they had).
My only significant concern at this point, having seen how this plays out in other games, isn’t really any of that - but the seemingly arbitrary restrictions to this cross-faction content. If you’re going to say you’re going to do this and give people a choice, make it open to guilds and other content. Grouping removes the faction constraint, great. So too should it apply to the meta grouping: Guilds.
Let the choice be whether or not the group leader decides it is OK in every context (parties, raids, guilds). Putting arbitrary restrictions in when it will have additional player generated arbitrary decisions in game seems like an unnecessary amount of arbitrary. You can’t pay lip service to choice when you create random reasons to exclude said choice.
Amazing! Guilds need to be able to be multifaction tho, for achievements and stuff like that. But besides that this is great!
I’d have loved for them to change/improve/fix the Mythic raid ID lockout before the x-faction instance.
Rock on, Blizzard!
Next step is guilds. Please please guilds. I am beyond gitty right now. 9.2.5 can’t come fast enough. I can finally go back and play Alliance races!
