Development Preview: Cross-Faction Instances

Battle.net ID?

Steamwheedle don’t care, they like making $$$$$$$$.

I mean, a glance ā€œBeyond The Pond of Blizzard Official Serversā€ would seem to suggest that it is NOT that difficult … but who knows?

Why no cross-faction queueing?

Who knows? Maybe for next expansion.

Just getting rid of it is easier said than done. The faction divide was built into the very foundation of the game’s code. Getting rid of that would be like building a house without a foundation.

But who knows. Blizzard sometimes has tricks up their sleeve so they might be able to pull it off. I’m not sure how without doing an insane overhaul.

I sure hope so!

It’s a brawl, and basically a series of duels.
It’s not bad. I’m curious to try it out.
But it’s also a far cry from solo queue rated BG’s.

Honestly we need cross faction guilds and queuing. Having a few people in a group but can’t do some dungeons to lvl up would be a shame because it stops you from queuing for random dungeons.

I mean, it needs a new foundation anyways. This one is crumbling and the house is leaning.

Pretty sure there’s nothing left but a crater where that slab once rested!

Very nice move.
And also, the good old War Mode 2.0 rumors finally came true!
Thanks a lot!

You get more participation from an opt-out program than an opt-in program

Very true haha.

It makes zero sense to not be able to queue cross-faction.

And when is this supposed to be implemented?

I’ve been playing since beta. During that time I played exclusively Alliance until April 2021. The only reason I’m playing on the Horde is because of my guild.

While I view this as a solid first step in the right direction, I really want to see cross-faction guilds.

I’d pay to transfer the 8+ 60s that I have on the Horde to Alliance as soon as cross-faction guilds are a thing. Seems like easy money for Blizzard, as I can’t imagine that I’m the only one.

I think for chatting purposes, they could, but actually accessing the guild bank and other guild related services, no.

There was a bug that allowed neutral pandaren to create a guild with other neutral pandaren. Once the guild master chose a faction though (say, alliance), the guild would then lock to being alliance-controlled. Any Horde or Neutral players in the guild would not be able to do anything with the guild bank, even if they had the proper ranks to do so normally, and alliance speaking in guild chat would say ā€œ[Common] -insert perfectly readable text here rather than ā€˜goibon uden lo bur’-ā€ toward Horde or Neutral Players, and vice versa.

needs to include guilds. just copy the communities format minus cross realm and call it a day.

Can you give one reason as to why not?

remember - the AH is cross faction now. So why exactly shouldn’t guildbanks be?
