1: you listed 10 unique spells and called it 11
2: All of the ones I listed for wrath are spells you’re supposed to use in your DPS rotation.
And how many of those are being regularly pressed as a part of your everyday rotation?
The completely out of control cheating has ruined this game for everyone that doesn’t cheat or use exploits and the game population shows it.
It never should have been allowed to get this bad.
If it weren’t for the script cheating and rotation bots we wouldn’t be here squabbling over whether or not 10, 20, even 30 spells is too many and the interaction between them overly complex.
If you take active talents, turn off your pet’s autocasts so you can use them on-demand while wielding your pet as your second weapon, BM is a complicated spec.
If you take passives and load everything possible into Barbed Shot, keep your pet on auto-mode and ignore it, BM is an easy, simple spec, which is great because you can choose which way to play that is the most fun for you.
My server is hopping
There are no “20-button” rotations… they’re around about 5-7 for most classes.
The combat hasn’t changed drastically either… it just became a little faster and hard bosses are a good thing. Normal raids aren’t hard… if you’re struggling with a normal raid or low mythics, that’s a YOU issue.
If you want a 2009 version of the game, go play WOTLK Classic…
WoW still has 5 button DPS rotations / healing priorities, a major cooldown, defensive, utility, mobility… and yes, some bloat.
If you look at FFXIV, the classes truly have 20 button rotations with off global cooldowns, but barely anything else… It’s a different style.
GW2 has 5 buttons from weapon picks (2 sets), and 5 utilities from a selection pool, and talent selections not too dissimilar to WoW’s “2.0” pre-DF talents.
I know it’s a hot take, but I think BfA truly was a sweet spot.
We had fewer abilities but each of them felt impactful. It was easier to balance, it was crisp… but not as insanely fast as it is now. I’m mostly talking from my PvP perspective, and what I enjoyed most… though I understand arguments for skill and variety in the DF design. I do like it, but agree it’s a bit over the top.
A full set of Expedient 3 has entered the chat.
I should clarify I meant the beginning of BfA.
I don’t think many people liked Corruptions.
The beginning of BFA just felt bad to play, as basically every class was just missing stuff from Legion.
Going from “I had all 3 of these abilities” to “Pick one of these 3 abilites” was just bad.
And having a full set of the stat corruption you wanted was great. The problem was just how long it took to get there.
Wild how off the mark these threads always are. Probably just stale bait.
Classic is right there if you want to play it, but it’s so boring. Nostalgia can only do so much.
Classic has almost double the amount of people playing then your dead game retail.
M+ wasn’t in the game destroying the gearing process and offering mythic raid gear for failing to time easy content.
Social connections and gameplay was basically required to progress your character.
Its the opposite for me. But i never really played vanilla content all the way through, so a lot of it is new to me. But i have so much more fun playing hardcore than i do with dragonflight. It’s a night and day difference. It actually feels like an MMO with real player interaction. Its challenging and it actually feels rewarding. Most fun i’ve had gaming in years
Im not sure how true this is, but it’s exactly how it feels. The world feels alive in classic.
Because there is a lot else going on than that that makes the game good or bad. You would know if you played all classes because at times some classes were 5 button rotations and the game was no different from classes you needed 9 buttons.
That said I much prefer just being able to use arcane blast on mage over the mess that assassination rogue is. Hitting something 3 times is much preferably over hitting something 8 times.
Im on the most populated server, i dont think the number of people is the problem.
What kind of content do you do that you consider fun? And do you do it solo or with others?
Currencies should be pruned back. I get why they have some different currencies, but others are overly complicared and not necessary.
Plus classic is boring, so making wow easier is not really the problem.
At the level I play at, all of them. Why would I bother keybinding something I won’t use regularly, especially when I have more than 20 to keep track of
For MW alone you have to do:
-Healing (up to 10 different spells)
-DPS (7 abilities)
-Movement (4 abilities)
-Survival (5 abilities)
-Control (4 abilities)
And yea all of those are actively used regularly
