Which is just a lot of fancy words if they’re not actually adding or doing anything to create more repetitive encounters. The only two activities that really benefit from a persistent will remain arena and raids. And ironically the LFG Tool they’re adding while better for forming groups is actually less social than chat(and of course unless it’s cross realm not really helpful in a lot of situations)
LFD is a first come first server system, which is fair for everyone.
Yep.
One of my more interesting pulls in retail of late.
prot warrior tank, resto druid…3 rogues. 1 each spec.
ideal comp? nope.
but we got what we got. I was one of the rogues going even I’d have like to seen a rdps. Oh well…lets do this.
classic? rogues beg for 1 spot. full rogue dps crew? not happening.
I would like it if old 40 man Naxx would also be available, like in the caverns of time or something
I missed my opportunity to raid Naxx 40 in wow classic, but I also want to play on Wrath of the Lich King
These changes aren’t bad at all
The 4th news post is good.
The previous ones have primed the community for anger though. They really should have released them in a better order.
- Changes to Wrath content
- Changes to XP in groups
- Joyous XM Buff
- Retail LFG
That way the community would have been in a happy place, and the last one would have brought them back down to earth instead of having them start in hell and claw their way back to daylight.
Yes, without RDF I won’t be playing my 2 tanks and 2 healers that I would have been playing if it were in the game.
"They should also remain an interesting challenge throughout the entire expansion, rather than becoming excessively easy as your gear improves. "
Please don’t make something arbitrary difficult because we’re geared. We get geared to be powerful, which should make it easier. We’re rewarded by making it easier/quicker. We can decide to make it harder by pulling more, by pulling faster. With gear, we get to be more creative, and it remains a challenge when you fight in ‘unorthodox’ ways. Why should we be punished by being geared?
Also by that time, we’ve run it a million times and we really just run the heroic for the badge.
The second goal is about making sure Heroic dungeons stay attractive throughout the entire expansion. The Emblems and items they drop should always be valuable, even late in the expansion. They should also remain an interesting challenge throughout the entire expansion, rather than becoming excessively easy as your gear improves. We are exploring plans to add challenges to Heroic dungeons as the expansion proceeds, which would also provide more valuable rewards.
This has concerning smells of Retail failures - specifically, the Mythic Dungeon rewards. That system became a weekly requirement to remain relevant in a top-tier raiding environment based on random loot rolls, and ultimately led to quitting the game. I, along with many of my friends and guildies, play Classic specifically because we are able to remain relevant in a raid environment without spending countless hours farming for things outside of it. Many of us simply do not have the time to commit outside of a normal raid schedule. I hope this does not lead to the same.
Yes it does, because i’m not interested in manually putting groups together.
I was going into wrath with the idea I’d just queue up, pop a random dungeon and get straight to the action, tank a dungeon, get to the end grab some loot maybe and then requeue and jump into another one.
I don’t enjoy the debate on where to go dealing with lock outs of random people. Ergo, without RDF I have no interest in leveling my warrior up, because dealing with that is more of a headache than it’s worth.
Same reason I’m not healing a bunch of dungeons on my healer right now. Because dealing with manual building of groups is more of a headache than it’s worth.
So, you’ve got yours, so it’s fine if no one else gets theirs.
I did
i do NOT want pets or vanity items or transmog
I like GDKP because it is superior to every form of loot distribution barring healthy guild structures.
OG Wrath added LFG as a feature in the ICC patch. People where doing Naxx, Ulduar, and TOGC around a YEAR later after launch.
Harder content = \ = people quit
Cata and SoM would like a word.
This would be a lie
So you know my experiences better than i do, got it.
Not a lie, it was one of my 2-5am (parents woke up at 530 for work) play sessions (on a school night, end of highschool for me) when i wasnt supposed to be on the computer, and i remember them because i spent the entire time trying to do a dungeon (this was with rdf) and didnt get into one now and then. I was very much addicted to wow when i was growing up.
I would get about 5 hours of sleep a night in high school, because i wanted to play more.
9pm-2am. Then go back to sleep around 5 to be “asleep” when my parents got up.
But please, do tell me more about my own experiences and how you remember them better than i do.

I’m sorry dude it’s rough out here for us that’s why I call out the dismissiveness abusiveness and gaslighting.
Sometimes you get a good Convo going like with zeryus here so thanks for that
Harder content = \ = people quit
While I agree with you generally, I will say that the “Turned up the difficulty in Heroics” experience of Cataclysm in combination with random groups, definitely made people quit. But that’s just one specific example.
Yes, this is a lie.
There’s definitely a difference between hard content and over tuned content. Cata was the best example of over tuning when it came to heroics and heck even some normal dungeons. G R I M B A T O L
Yes, this is a lie
So something not fitting your narrative means its a lie, got it.
But please keep telling me you know my personal experiences better than i do.
The heroics weren’t that difficult in general. What killed groups was the change from spam healing with infinite mana to triage healing where you would OOM if you healed anyone, but the tank.

It wasn’t even that over tuned it was just stupid to stick dungeons designed around specific group comp requirements in a random group maker that often failed to meet those requirements.
