Dev incompetence

Fun things that are in fact game breaking that have been bugged for weeks if not months.

  1. Cheating in CMs is extremely common place due to the devs failing to be able to update anything in MoP. Go look up a platinum timer video for Siege. Every single Strat involves glitching under the map to skip mandatory RP. If you’re looking for any world best or server best time? Better be prepared to cheat even more. Devs seem to be okay with it though, no one is saying bad words so no bans have been handed out.
  2. Platinum achievement for all dungeons reward still does not give you any bonus coins. It says you should get a bag of stuff. You don’t. Shocker. You can’t even make the reward work from the content you put in. Can’t fix the content, can’t give rewards from the content. Wow!
  3. Grobbulus has had 10+ posts about how the server is dead, but Blizzard does nothing about. You happily charge for mop xpac stuff, happily charge $30/$60 for character services. Yet you do NOTHING for this version of the game.

I don’t know what devs they put on the Classic versions of the game, but judging by the piss poor QA and fix rate of game breaking bugs, I’m inclined to think they, similar to MoP, are not up to the quality that is expected.

Genuinely can not wait to eat a forum ban faster than anyone who has cheated in game gets one. Will be a perfect textbook example of what I’m talking about.

Your frustration is misplaced because you are mistaking apathy for incompetence.

MoP isn’t failing because the devs assigned to MoP are bad at their jobs. MoP is failing because there are no Devs assigned to MoP. No one is here. Their resources are in TBC or Midnight or China. Your post won’t get you banned because there is no one here to read it.

Far as i am aware of retail has a separate dev team than the classic one

Last blue post was a month ago with extremely minor bugfixes, and before that it was about jogu. This dev team is actually embarrassing. How do games such as league, TFT, and even OSRS have 50x the dev communication but the blizzard team seems locked away in their cubicles?

The devs on classic mop are active on GitHub accepting input from top 0.1% players so idk where you get this idea, but it’s wrong!

The top 2 raiding guilds quit Mop because the devs ignored bugs that were present in all 3 rounds of PTR testing.

Sad to see the best expansion of the game treated with such disrespect, but eh. It’s playable enough at least, and I never intended to keep playing past Pandaria unless my guild keeps going anyway

meh i was looking forward to wod with how good people said the raiding was. unfortunately i got baited into thinking mop would get more dev help than cata since they said cata was handled poorly, but if this dev team cant fix bugs in mop i dont expect them to fix bugs in a more complex version

You’d be wrong.

Somewhere in these forums there’s a blue saying that they can’t work on us because they’re working on housing.

MoP is literally “if we have time we might look at it”.

Edit: Found it. They couldn’t do connected realms because player housing was their prio.

Exactly - and Fwoibles’ post about Grobb on Twitter was a “since I haven’t even thought about MoP lately, and now it’s come to my attention, yeah we should probably look at this.”

We aren’t something that is being actively managed or considered. We’re an afterthought.

Oh what i liked best about that part is the typo where he wrote MoP as MoO

that’s the sort of attention to detail that fills me with confidence
