When will the deserter debuff go away; when we never deserted the group finder dungeon in the first place. Instead got kicked 2 minutes in. Seems unpractical to be farmed by trolls in the lowest level dungeon possible at level 70.
That is not something that the CS forums can answer. This is an Information Desk for help with Support, current policy info, knowledge base articles, services, etc.
The WoW Devs are the ones who make those decisions about in-game functions. Your feedback would need to go on the General Discussion forum or another of your choice outside Support. I can tell you now though, that nobody can give you a yes or no answer.
The reason the debuff on kick exists was because when it did not, people would troll badly to get a group to kick them when they got a random dungeon they did not want from the dungeon finder. It is currently the lesser of evils, but is certainly not perfect either.

What I told you is the current factual information on the situation. Changing the current policies, or collecting feedback, are not things that the Forum Support Agents or Support folks via tickets, do.
Blizzard takes feedback either through the in-game Suggestions tool, or posting on the non-Support forums such as General Discussion.
Grouping in WoW is a will. It is intended that people can group with who they wish, or not. They can kick for any reason, or no reason. Majority rules.
If you find you don’t want to be grouped with someone again then you can put them on Ignore and the dungeon tools won’t group you with them again.

Bad idea to try to provoke people with assumptions and such. It most certainly is not a good way to get assistance and info.

It’s not trolling if it took you two minutes to zone into the instance. Two minutes with the gogogo mentality most groups have, depending on the instance first boss could be engaged and downed and you’d be trying to catch up the entire instance long and not really participating.
Sometimes loading screens hang up. Sometimes you’re in the middle of something else, but if you’re queued up and not ready to zone in and plow through things when that queue pops? That could just as easily be seen as trolling that there is a party member not there with the group to pull their own weight.
Mirasol has the right of it across the board. But as another of your fellow players who also isn’t getting paid to say anything at all here - your flagged post isn’t doing you any favors in keeping up the image of the maligned party.
Knock out a few world quests. Pop to an alt for a bit. Go grab a snack. The debuff goes away and you’re good to go to try again. Good luck to you.
I doubt it will ever go away. I remember when we first got group finder and if you got kicked there was no deserter debuff. You would have tanks or healers holding groups hostage to kick them. Why because if they left they would get the debuff, But if kicked no debuff. So they give it to people kicked now too.
This was abused and this is why people kicked get the debuff.
Exactly…I remember the days during Cataclysm where you didn’t get the debuff if you were kicked. It was not a pleasant time.
