I feel like demo L$D is one of the best comps right now tbh. But everyone likes destro because it’s more simple and takes less effort to play.

Less effort, as well as much less skill. Put your mind to it, and demonology is actually far superior.

People will play what they want, just be happy that there are variations in the lock specs atm. Not just Aff in every single game lol.

Demo still feels like the weakest lock spec to me. Affliction and destruction do more sustained and burst. Demo has more control which might work well in some comps but the tyrant damage is even easier to avoid than destruction damage.

Demo might be slightly tankier against some spell cleave comps (unless you banish pet) but it takes way more damage against melee cleaves now.

Pet AI feels slow and so does demo pet movement speed. Feels like they can’t even do decent damage around pillars now but that might just be because demonwrath is gone.

I liked old demo, never liked the new one, destro was always my favorite lock spec. That being said, destro has changed for the worse as well. Whole point of the big bolts was that they were hard to get off, but with the fast cast time, theyre not too hard to get off compared to past expacs. Just gated behind long cds. Idk, i liked lock but just doesnt feel the same to me anymore. Its overtuned, but instead of fixing the spec they will prob just blanket nerf it.

honestly I feel Destro is more set up based and demo is just dampening pressure while also having mobility and self peels. Aff is a gross spec tho

I’ve NEVER lost a demonology warlock, nerd. Only had a couple close matches. I know how to play vs. them. It seems like the rest of you don’t. They have a lot of untapped potential and you’re too ignorant to realize it.

Least used for sure. Rep would go way way up if they nerfed destro though. It’s not even necessarily worse. Maybe just less direct/straightforward than destro. All three warlock specs are viable.

Compare that to something like hunter that has only one viable spec. It’s not that everyone just loves playing melee hunter so much that 90+% of the top half of the ladder’s hunters are playing sv.

Demo can be incredibly strong though. It just has more of a support role instead of a finishing burst role. You have grimoire felguard stun + extra damage, fel lord, and can make both of them last 30 seconds with correct use of tyrant. Tyrant itself doesn’t do that much damage but enabling those extra pets to last longer does way more than the on-paper damage of the tyrant. You also have instant felstalkers, and an instant pet ability that does decent damage and generates a shard. Between molten core procs (with soul siphon), instant felpups, soul strike, demonic strength - you actually have a lot of instant damage to spend globals on. Then axe toss + coil on top of shadowfury and spammable fear. You just have a different set of tools and a different pace than destro.
