Demon Summoning

This is quite awesome. Thanks Kaivax.

it’s not realistic to enforce in eastern europe or russia - it’s just not

several years ago, I looked into setting one up with a cash shop and donating the money to charity - but in my case irregardless of giving the money away I would be liable and within Blizzard’s crosshairs as I live in Canada.

I did a lot of AoE grinding on my mage in Vanilla. My record, which I want to try and break on the Classic servers is 26 mobs at once.

And yes, I do mean I was doing that before AQ even came out. So this was definitely not done on a private server.

I assure you, i do.

If Blizz wanted to pursue them, they could. It’s simply not cost effective. New ones spring up like cockroaches. But Blizz has successfully sued many pserver owners.

No-one assumes that everything on private servers are correct. Those private server players know that many things are likely inaccurate due to lack of confirmable knowledge. However, they have always had a passion of getting everything close to authentic as possible. Because of that, they just want to make sure that the Classic team is actually making things correct on Classic.

and yet they didn’t receive a dime from any of them…

this is why you don’t setup a private server in North America - case in point is Gummy

Theloras are u actually so mad that Pservers have something wrong that u have to behave like this in this thread?

Like how you’re paladin isn’t going to be the same in classic…

The fear creeps in…

no merely replying to people - i don’t even play a warlock so I have no skin in the demon summoning game - i haven’t brought up Paladins at all in this thread bro you did

Which is what I said.

You’re just looking to argue. Which I can do if you want. You said not enforceable. Now you say not realistic. Which is basically what I said. There are International copyright laws. But it’s not financially worth it.

As i said, easier to make their own and entice players back.

The Succubus likes the abuse

Just to play devil’s advocate, an auto-incrementing primary key does not necessarily confirm any sort of timeline. These can still be entered manually and thus out of order. It only strongly implies a timeline.

This, however, does confirm.

I never said people assume everything on private servers are correct. I said things that private servers got wrong and everyone assumes is correct. There is a difference.

the POINT that I am trying to get across is that we are only here cause of Nost

no other private server voluntarily shut down nor did they offer to go and visit Blizzard and offer a roadmap of how they could succeed with an authentic vanilla server for players

private server operators don’t care about DMC takedowns

And? 10 characters…

It could also be that there were many spells created and deleted in the development process. So you might have spell ID 1 and 10 but nothing in between.

my original post was a response to this…

A brand new forum post just to clarify something that came up in another thread?

Now that’s what I call forum engagement! Keep up the good work guys. I love to see thought processes like this.

I could care less.

I was addressing your comment about copyright law being unenforceable.

One you now admit was wrong.

Do your fawning fanboi thing with Nost all you want. I care squat about private servers. Never used them, never will.

Huh imagine that. A nice small detail handed to the forums, something most of us appreciate on a couple different levels, and yet it becomes private server bickering.
