Demon Hunters Are Silly

Ah ok. Well I choose to ignore it. Because it’s lame. The original lore was cool. Need a useful power? Alright. poke poke

I choose to accept it. Because it’s lame and therefore it fits Demon Hunters lol

It does seems like a silly thing to rend your eyes out over. As we all know, the demons of the burning legion are just people like you and me.

A just an apology away from being functioning members of our society.

Listen here pal, you’re a Demon Hunter too, the only difference is you were too scared to fully commit to the bit

It wasn’t even an apology. It was an excuse. The worst excuse. “Just following orders, guv’nah!”

Are you proposing that bad, damaging lore was hamfisted into the story so that people could play “the cute red ones” regardless of the damage such a decision may do to the primary antagonists of the setting?

I won’t believe it. I simply will not.

To be fair, it was long established that a lot of Demons are just slaves of Sargeras rather than true believers.

There was even an archeology item in Legion that was basically a tool to make non-evil Demons artificially bad enough that they could do the deeds.

I am the insulted :triumph:

Actually if Draenei could be Demon Hunters, I might finally get one to max level. And to any naysayer, I have one word for you: Warlocks.

I thought they blinded themselves because it was necessary for obtaining that special eyesight to detect demons.

I agree. Draenei should also not be warlocks. Or DKs.

Someone has never played a Demon Hunter. It is a line from that class… like how humans have “Good Day to you!” when you interact with them.

Now on a serious note, I was always under the impression that the Demon Hunter eye-removal thing was a ritual, done purposely, in order to give the DH enhanced fel vision. Like sacrificing your eyes for sight-beyond-sight. Maybe I am tripping but I distinctly remember it being described this way at some point. “Demon Hunters ritually blind themselves in order to gain Spectral Sight” or something along those lines.

Which I always thought was a really cool piece of lore.

Come to find out it is just a side effect of being driven mad by Demon Visions.

Bah.

It’s both really. What I’ve gathered, they need to withstand it for a period of time to see the visions then are allowed to puncture their eyes out to get special sight.

Because… them eye beams

Why was illidan wearing a blindfold in the wc3 campaign before becoming a demon hunter?

Illidan actually became a Demon Hunter 10000 years ago.

The only thing he got in WC3 was Metamorphosis, which he stole from the Skull of Gul’dan, along with knowledge about the Tomb of Sargeras.
