Ah, so I see a hotfix is the reason why I suddenly can’t get past the first room of a Tier 8 delve. I was soloing them literally earlier today.

Delves

• Fixed a bug causing bosses to scale incorrectly with more players.
• Increased the health scaling of enemies in Delves while grouped with other players.
• Reduced the damage scaling of many enemy abilities in Delves while grouped with other players.
• Adjusted enemy targeting preferences in Delves.
  • Developers’ notes: Our goal is to match the difficulty of solo and group play as much as possible in Delves. When looking at data on group delves, we noticed unexpectedly low combat times coupled with unexpectedly high lethality. We identified the root cause of this issue and corrected it. This fix will increase the health scaling of enemies per additional player present, but we are also reducing the damage scaling of many abilities to compensate.
• Zekvir’s influence has grown stronger, introducing a new enemy variant in Delve Tier 8.
• Fixed an issue where the health bar UI could fail to display values correctly in Zekvir’s Lair while in a group.
• Revives Remaining has changed to Lives Remaining. Now any time a player dies, the counter is reduced (was any time a player releases spirit). In addition, reaching a checkpoint will now provide +1 life.
  • Developer’s note: This mechanic was proving to be confusing in its functionality, making it a mistake to release spirit when playing with certain compositions. This change should make the experience more consistent regardless of group size or makeup.

Blizz is on to something with these Delves as I’m having a blast playing them, but I’m starting to run into a brick wall with mysterious and unavoidable attacks that make it extremely hard to feel like I’ll ever progress. Yeah… more gear in time will help, but when I successful interrupt an ability only for a HUGE poison dot to just show up on my player for no apparent reason, it’s unsatisfying.

Yeah, found out the hard way that the purple beam on the ground wasn’t something to toy around with. As my health bar went down to zero in one wonderful display of f around and find out moment.

Revives Remaining has changed to Lives Remaining. Now any time a player dies, the counter is reduced (was any time a player releases spirit).

So now you are 100% encouraged to never have a full group, because if Zekvir spawns and wipes you mid boss fight you fail.

“Bug fix” after Wowhead posted an article today that covered a Twitter post about someone mathing out the scaling and mob HP in delves. 3 whole days later after we could begin pushing delves. Get real.

Blizzard, I have news for you, if your players are happy they will play your games. People are just going to go and find other things to do with their time because you can’t balance your game in almost any content. Making everything a sweat fiesta that you have to quit your job to do isn’t fun for the 95-98% of us.

That damage carries over each day you log in and play. So starting tomorrow, you will randomly just die.

That’d be a good idea if they were possible to solo for the majority of classes. My priest can barely scrape through an 8, it’s not a dps issue, its not a mechanic issue, it’s a 4 mil auto attack issue.

Okay, this went from a questionable design direction to “you just completely broke Delves” immediately, because I just saw a Reddit thread of someone getting hit for 12.5M by a mob’s autoattack.
