I find it incredible that you’re having trouble as a tank at level 7, while I, playing as a DPS (ret - Herald), only started encountering problems at level 8.
Most of those problems were due to my own mistakes.
I’m not the best player, and I reached level 8 with a 575 ilvl.
I didn’t manage to reach the end of level 8 with all lives intact, and I lost the chest, but it still counted for the Vault.
By doing 4 Delves (1 at level 8 and 3 at level 7), Brann reached level 19.
I think the pace is fine.
And for a casual player like me, who can only play 3 hours a day, it’s the best thing Blizzard could have added.
Is it difficult? Yes.
But it’s only the first week.
I don’t have the necessary gear.
And I don’t know all the mechanics yet.

I steamrolled tier 5, what? Tier 7+ is where it gets hard. Don’t think your ever going to see tie 11 or 13 if you have problems with 5 unless you group. I also solo’d tier 8 so yeah I know how hard it gets.
Well see here is your problem , its a sub based game that requires player investment. It suppose to last the entirety of a patch and compliment raids and m+ even though its gear is capped at 616. If you expect to complete it in a week then you will be disappointed

It’s honestly worse than torghast was. Some classes can face roll and others it’s just a slog fest.
I’d just do them in a group until you get the gear and then play solo if you desire.
It seemed blizzard overtuned everything to try and make it last longer. Dev evoker also sucks so I’m out of luck when it comes to solo play

Soloed tier 8 as aug.
You’re not out of luck lol.
And nearly managed to solo one as dev (bugged, mob fell through floor.)
Delves aren’t equal in difficulty.
I find it incredible that there are people complaining that they can’t complete level 8 in the first week, when this is an activity designed to last at least half of the season. At least.
Plus, at level 8, there are some pulls where I had to start with defensive cooldowns, because otherwise, I would explode in 2 seconds. I’m talking about 5 mobs, where each of them hits me with basic melee attacks for 100,000 damage. If I didn’t go in with cooldowns, they’d wipe me out of existence.
And if I add a spell that I can’t interrupt (like a 1.5 million damage fireball), it became very easy to die.
If someone is going to progress SOLO, then I think stacking versatility is going to be mandatory.

It sounds like you are upset because you had assumptions and pre-conceived notions about delves and they haven’t panned out exactly like you thought they would.

I think zoning in, turning around and zoning out will also remove the bountiful status.
I’m not sure if people can join it whenever, but last night I zoned into one and afkd for a minute before my friend asked if he could join and I was able to invite him and have him zone in before talking to the npc.
My partner also joined me in a regular delve and afked at the entrance to prepare dinner while I cleared 90% of it. I don’t know if the rewards or xp are adjusted (regular delves were giving us terrible loot anyways), so I wouldn’t be surprised if people are already trying to sell runs for bountiful if it isn’t.
I’d be interested to know if you can zone into a delve in progress (like just before the final boss). If it’s possible, I wouldn’t be surprised if things got hot fixed.

Your ilvl is like 30 more than the person you’re writing to. Of course you find tier 5 easier than they do lmao
I’m not even 585 and the content is face roll.
Lets face it, this game is 100% about gear and class now, skill means absolutely jack squat. Yeah I’m skilled because I did T8 on Sin Rogue on day 1, do I care? No. Was I rewarded for it? No. Do I care about doing more Delves? No.
What I really wanna do is farm the Alunira mount since it’s the only time my character feels powerful, then wait until October, everyone will be ilvl 650 because they play 8 hours a day, then I will just get carried.
If I don’t get invites, then I’ll just PVP, you know, the content that takes actual skill and isn’t just about how hard you farmed your gear.
“Omg Heroic raid is so hard 1 day after release! Omg, Heroic raid feels like LFR after 1 week!!! Whoa!!!”
Sorry everyone, looks like my previous post was maybe wrong. I might have to do some little tests on my gatherer alt later as I don’t mind trashing his delves, unless the 4 bountifuls warband-wide?
So far I’m thinking:
- test walking into a bountiful then immediately leaving and checking if it’s still bountiful from outside.
- get my revive counter to 0 then walk out and back in (is that what you refer to when you say reset? Or do I need to walk out and reset instances?)
- I also want to see if everyone’s brann gets the same amount of xp or if the leaders brann gets more (I assume it’s equal but I’m curious)
- I wanna test if my wife can afk the whole run and still loot the final treasure room
Also does anyone know the scaling between levels?
We ran a regular 7 and I was tanking large pulls at 580 (which I think is appropriate for a 7?) then went into an 8 bountiful and got absolutely humbled, losing 4 of our lives in the first two rooms of waterworks. I know 8s had an ilvl req 20 above what I wore, and am happy to accept that it’s an accurate suggested ilvl - I’m just surprised it could jump that far in one go.
I barely do delves and mine is at 11. It doesn’t take long to get to 15
The recomended ilvl for a 7 is 587, and for an 8 it’s 600.
As a mage there no way really to solo these after tier 8. Its possible but not ideal.
There’s alot of bosses that will just 1 shot you or 2 shot you.
Yes I know if I was higher ilevel its going to be easier. but right now it sucks and I’m forced to group to get my 4 done in a timely manner. I don’t got all day for this
I’m over hear enjoying delves and already up to 600ilvl.
Not sure what the fuss is. They’re pretty easy if you actually know how to play this 20 year old game.
Dunno what you talkin about. did all 4 bountiful tier 8 delves yesterday. was easy and took like 20 minutes each max.
sounds like a skill issue.

It’s badly balanced between specs.
Yeah anything in this game is easy when you spend 8 hours a day over gearing all of it.

As soon as I switched from Prot Paladin to Ret Paladin I was able to push all the way to tier 8 as well.
Prot Paladin, from my experience, doesn’t have enough damage output to really contend with the DPS requirements currently. I am sure in a few weeks when I get more gear for my prot spec it will be fine.
It just feels strange that at the same exact iLvl my prot spec couldn’t push past 6 but my ret spec can.
Although it was completely different set of delves, which may have also influenced it.
Once again.
ONCE AGAIN we get game design. Content. The whole 9 yards balanced around the 1% sweatiest population.
They have to make it this hard and also timegate things because of the 1% population.
Never mind the rest of us with jobs. Never mind us. We don’t want the 1% to get through it all in the first week and go “I’m done. What else is there to do”. God forbid they do that!
Instead it gets time gated along with EVERYTHING else and the rest of us suffer.
