Delves need a lobby

I love delves, but the one thing they lack as compared to, say, Torghast, is a common area where people who are interested in grouping can connect.

The /1 in Delves is fairly vibrant, but thats when you’re already in the Delve. And theres always guilds and LFG. But thats not what im saying.

We need a lobby. We need a pvp area. It needs to be an area where everyone is already there, intending to do delves, and its a quick, “we need an X” situation.

Im sure its possible to do. Maybe a delve portal room or something? I dont exactly love that idea but it gives you a direction im trying to move in.

Pretty sure the open world is the lobby in wow

30 seconds travel time too much for you?

It’d be cool to have a cross faction lobby or just extend the area at the Delve entrance to include Delve chat.

I always found it interesting that delves didn’t automatically pair you with two other people for seamless fun. Instead they’re a fog gate meant to select difficulty settings only. I feel like delves failed to realize the seamless experience with randoms into a mini dungeon around the world.

They’re still fun and basically just a single boss section of a dungeon (I wish we could have longer ones), but without an automation feature in place people are going to naturally play alone with it.

If it was an opt-in feature that’d be fine but, personally, if I wanted to do group play I’d just run a dungeon.

How long would it make you wait before just letting you do the dungeon solo? I don’t think there would be many people queueing for the same delve and difficulty at the exact same time.

Unless it would just let you start it and then toss people into your delve while you’re in progress. I also feel like you might get people who are undergeared and hoping to get carried by the people they get paired with.

No yeah of course it’d be opt-in.

I think having it queue while you enter the delve and start it up until about a minute or two in, kind of like how Warframe handles its missions and when to cut off matchmaking - you just end up having to play catch-up for about 30 seconds. Or spawn people in near everyone with an invincibility timer that goes away with any action besides running.

Honestly if they had a [Quick play] option to just play with others and you choose difficulty tiers (T1-3) / (T4-T8) / (T9-T11) and require a minimum (equipped) ilvl to avoid being carried would go a long way.

Interesting question, when the wife and kids go to bed tonight I almost wanna try to form delve groups

If I got dropped into a 9 or 10 when I wanted an 11, I’d immediately bail since I’m in it for the gilded crests. 9 and 10s are useless because an 8 gets you the exact same rewards. And the same goes for wanting to do an 8 for vault, I’d bail on a 4-7.

I just think there are way too many ifs, edge cases, and scenarios where you’d get bad pairing if they just automatically put people into groups. Especially when you consider how delves are often easier solo due to some of the scaling at various party break points.

You do Delves with other people?

Whats travel time got to do with anything?

Dungeons are way too high tension. Like, needlessly so.

No, but occasionally id like to.

Delves are World content. The World is the lobby. I see folks hanging out around Delves all the time.

And the folks out doing World Events are at least partially there for Coffer Keys. There’s tons of players you could use public channels to chat with during those events.

With manual grouping sure but these automatic pairings should be more about playing with randoms and having fun since it’s clear delves are meant to be short bursts of fun, not exactly super serious mechanic heavy instances. Personally I think the scaling should just be automatic in those brackets so that everything is scaled to you (up to a max) so that no matter what you get the best rewards possible. Including the crests — since that’s what most people doing end game delve farming are running them for.

There are probably better catch alls here but I think it’s totally possible for Blizzard to create a seamless or very quick experience compared to playing alone or manual grouping.

I do. :slightly_smiling_face:

I put together groups for T9-T10 time from time, story and which delve it is tends to be a factor. Doing something like the “From Weaver With Love” story in SW is a negative since people can’t put together their 2 braincells to use the grappling hook lol. Healing Tank Brann is more fun thanks to player scaling.

There’s a big delvers hut tho, but we could use a bar and maybe some drunk dwarves singing songs.

Delves need a summoning stone.

This would need a permanent opt-out. I don’t want random people joining in my Delve. I don’t care what other people do but I enjoy solo content. I am glad that Blizzard provided it.

The easiest solution would be to enter delve chat when you enter the airlock area before the entrance. Shouldn’t be a hard fix.
