No, the wife and I are fully capable of just flying to the delve we are going to do and not having anything extra added.
Well, considering they were created as SOLO content, they didn’t fail to realize anything. The very reason it exists is for solo players.

While I disagree with Zeilal this is a bad take, delves is an endgame pillar that can be solo’d and done in flex sized group which Blizzard has stated before the existence of the mode at Blizzcon for TWW.

80% of the time im the same way. Im just saying, 20% of the time i want to rip through the deleve with some strangers.
I was replying to the other person who said Random People should just be able to appear in your Delve for the first 30-60 seconds and join in. I would not want that at all.
I don’t care if others make groups and enter together. I don’t want people joining in my delvees.

Well yeah, agreed. Let people who wanna solo just select solo mode and have it remember that choice. Wish the system had both in mind.
Originally they made the system seem like it’d be an either-or option and have brann make up for any downside said group has due to only being 2-3 people. But realistically most people just go in solo and do it that way - it’s just faster and less hassle that way. Which is totally valid, it’s meant to be an endgame pillar for solo / duo players.
I don’t think it’s wrong for wanting Scenario gameplay with others where roles are less impactful and just doing a nice mini-dungeon with randoms (and brann).
