I struggled in tier 8s yesterday. Died multiple times. Still managed to do them solo but I did end up having to experiment, isolate packs or mobs, and wait for CDs in between pulls.
Not all delves were made equal, either. The end boss for dread pit was absurd due to his stinging swarm ability.
I’m around 8-10 ilvl below the recommended ilvl for that tier, however, so it tracks.
Why not? Just add in-delve buffs based on the class/spec/role of the player, to balance it out.
Otherwise, Blizzard should prevent certain classes/specs that would not work inside of Delves from queuing into them.
There’s always some individuals that say that any MMO will never be balanced, but fundamentally that’s all we pay for, what we expect, the possibility of winning be fair across all types, when we pay our monthly subscription fee.
The issue isn’t the outgoing damage.
The enemies are already damage sponges.
The issue is incoming damage, specially caster/debuff. It’s way too high.
2M per bolt cast is kinda ridiculous, and not using hard interrupts isn’t getting enemy casts on CD.
You gotta play perfectly, CCing, LoSing and pulling minimally, or you get deleted.
You might also simply die to some unavoidable AoE that ignores LoS, like the one from the mushroom miniboss.
Not even high M+ is that hard, because you have a group to cover up for your failures until +15 or something.
At this point in time, I can confidently say that solo delves are much harder than high M+ for many specs.
Thankfully, T8 is totally doable and will become a pushover in a few weeks.
Entirely dependent on versatility, avoidance and DPS output, since when enemies die faster, you get hit less.
I don’t know how high the inc dmg/enemy HP is in T9 → 11 yet, but I bet item level, specially from gear coming exclusively from Delves, is not gonna fix it.

stinging swarm is intense, I had to concede on that one and lower from 8 to 7. Gear feels like it’ll make him a lot easier. Although skill level might help some too, main thing that was getting me wasn’t even the swarm but the impale there seems to be a mistelegraph for it that or I have lag and am not standing where I think I am. I’ll have to expriment with it later and figure out exactly where that impale is hitting at so I can use my own judgement and not need the telegraph as much.
Good news with this guy is he seems to have a pattern so with impale if you can predict where it’s going to be, you can simply no be there at the start of the ability anyways.
WoW is terrible on UI indicators for area damage, that much is a fact.
I got one-shot from a regular NPC impale once due to it.
I just assume the border for everything is larger than it looks.
For impale, just imagine an infinite triangle.

Oh, I’m not arguing the balancing (or lack thereof) at all. I do feel that the incoming damage is overtuned. I was mostly just making the observation that we aren’t supposed to be steamrolling our way through the higher tiers yet.
The only telegraph issue I personally noticed was the mine cart ‘hitting’ me without making contact in Earthcrawl Mines.
Yeah that one you can’t be on the same track as the cart at all. Have to choose the opposing track. Whats good about the cart is you will always know where it’s coming from just by paying attention to the boss right before the cart comes it will shoot a long spiderman like web in the direction the cart will be coming from. At that point just move away from the center and away from the track that is attached to that direction.
Curse of Agony is the biggest problem with that boss tbh, but easily avoidable with interrupts only issue is it’s a unreasonably fast cast considering you have to be paying attention to rather or not a cart is coming your way.
Going from 590 to 610 isint going to make up 20m hp lmao

Ilevel alone maybe not, but OP gear looks a bit like mine poorly optimized atm and focused more solely on the ilevel. Proper ilevel, with proper stats, with enchants and jewels plus careful play could make up the difference. Not saying that it will, there -could- be tuning issues but we can’t just assume there is.
Yeah. That boss was a doozie. I ended up just healing myself for several seconds to buy time for brann to spring back to life, then proceeded to dps again. Rotating CDs was the only way to deal with the encounter.

You are missing the point though, if people that are already pushing the ilvl curve are having issues with their scaling, what makes you think the people the content is actually designed for will ever be able to complete these lol.

Depends on who you think they’re designed for. I think its reasonable to expect people to enchant, jewel, and use consumables on the highest tiers of this content. It’s intended to be an endgame pillar for solo and small groups. Group and Raid content needs to do all those things why should we expect any different from any other end game content?

Tier 8 delves actually forced me to rethink my approach to certain encounters and think outside the box when tackling challenges. I had to use all of my utility and even tricks such as LOS pulling to get tier 8 done.
It’s refreshing to have challenging solo content.
My perspective isn’t hyperbole just because you don’t agree with it. Like what are you after here? I think it’s pretty reasonable to ask that the content advertised as solo content isn’t easier to do in a group.

your not geared enough to solo anything above 8 at this point.
Blizzard should have just added in a ilevel gate to enter and been done with it. Then no 1 would complain as they wouldnt be able to

Because the kind of issues people are running into (even hof raiders are saying the same things and their already breaching 610 ilvl) is that the incoming damage isint something the people delves are designed for will ever reasonably be able to out gear. You getting rapid fired on by mobs that are uninterruptable for 25-40% of your hp at 610 isint something the solo players will on average be able to handle lol

People who expected delves to be a faceroll like other solo content is getting a new experience.

And we all well know that this will be nerfed in the coming days. Most of the people arguing are doing it to argue because people are addicted to arguing.
I have been having a great time soloing delves. I have stopped at Tier 8 which is 600 ilvl recommended and I am now 597, and Tier 9 says it offers the same reward item level. So not sure if we are even supposed to go past Tier 8 this season.
In a tier 8 I have to play smart. If I stand in anything I die. If I pull more than 1 pack I die. Cooldowns are required for certain pulls. But if I am careful I get through it all. And it is getting easier to do 8s as I gear up. It reminds me a lot of doing Heroics in TBC. How punishing some felt at the start and then how rountine they became as you geared up.
