Delves are great BUT traps and objectives are bad

A class themed or range themed Delve? That’s definitely interesting!

Well I wish I could say I intended more than alternate objectives for squishies, but other options if they are interesting sound good. Good thinking.

That would be sick, a mix of that and Awakening the machine would be so good.

A Dalaran invasion sim where we are shooting down the attackers. But not with spells since those track, but with actual aiming like the one boss in SoO or similar where you have to learn to aim where the thing is going and not where it is.

That’s what I thought they were gonna be like. Not a fan of them as they stand now. Just mindless mobs that don’t hurt much, but have large health pools and the occasional annoying mechanic, almost feeling like an old internet pop up.

can certainly tell that some of us gamers haven’t ever played Tomb Raider games

Love those games.

Problem is these delves need to be repeatable and scalable. Most Zelda shrines lose their difficulty once you understand the puzzle, and they certainly can’t scale in difficulty either.

Delves are this way because they’re an extension of world content. It’s suppose to feel like a world quest with a boss at the end.

There’s always room to discuss what kind of quest content the delves can offer but it needs to be a mechanic that can offer skill expression. Such as environmental awareness.

Played TR2. Loved that games too. I did buy one of the reboots a few years ago for my xbone.

Delves are 100% indiana jones territory and we should get a few like it.

Lmao the boulder run would be fun stuff as long as it wasnt cheesy

Additional difficulty or mobs of some sort added at higher tier maybe? In addition to more damage for failing a mechanic obviously could make it interesting.

Thing is, as it’s been shown time and time again, most people hate puzzles than like them. So, while you might get bored without them the majority will skip content with them.

Are the objectives mandatory or can you just zug zug your way to the end?

It was cheesy when Harrison Ford did it in the movie

I loved movies like that.
cheesy villian fights

cheesy thug fights

funny stuff happening

we don’t get stuff like that anymore

just recycled garbage

I stopped watching all movies and TV in the 1990’s

Now it’s video games and 3D programs like Daz Studio and others for me.

I believe all work like a scenario you have to interact with some things and then fight boss. The higher tiers add new things to watch out for.

I like the delve where we accidentally eat the magic mushrooms and go on an adventure with our pink elephant friend.

Lame. I’ve been doing the objectives everytime, but I was hoping it was possible to just b-line it to the boss.

Delves with puzzles, underwater bubbles and such are simply not my thing. I get a lot like them, but I think they chase off more than they draw in. If puzzles were something Blizzard’s data said players overall love we’d see a lot more of them. Fact is most just don’t want to deal with this stuff.

You expect Brann to do something correctly? That is brave of you.

My Brann seems to be working ok.

Is yours doing bad things?

The objectives are mandatory. But if you can avoid encounters, do it. Like the big elites you can stealth past since there typically isnt a fill the bar.
