we can’t answer that question for you.

we all know the BIS weapons (essentially). its up to you now if you want it or not.

are you looking for justification to avoid it? so if your guild asks why are arent going BS you can say the forum said not to lol?

Nope just want to know so I can plan ahead. I know the stats, meta etc. I’m just debating on if I think its worth it. would like Honest feedback. (as in Numbers or links to threads I might have missed etc. You know useful information.) Maybe hear from a few other Shamans on this subject.

I do thank you for the reply but it wasn’t exactly productive. Please post legit info next time.

Look you seem more casual and that you’re going to raid in a more casual setting. If that’s the case then yes you don’t need to go BS. BS would just help you squeeze out that extra dps at the start but if you’re willing to pump out pvp for your weapons, they aren’t really that far off.

The question really is, how hard do you want to go at the start. If you went BS and couldn’t make them by week 2 then really there wasn’t a point anyways if the pvp season starts from day 1. Really you need to ask yourself can you make the maces early. If the pvp season doesn’t start for up to a few weeks from the start you are definitely better off making the weapons.

Not to make everything about min/max culture but if you aren’t willing to make maces early to pump out as much damage as you can then don’t expect a ton of gear from raids at least early and don’t be upset if you lose some of the big items to people that did spend that gold. It’s totally fine to take the approach you want as long as your expectations are in line with your effort.

Yes… of all the classes who can use them enhancement shaman should 10000000000% craft them. That proc is stupidly powerful for an enhancement shaman.

yes, it’s worth it

Not only are the 1 handers worthwhile, swapping to stormherald in pvp for the chance at massive burst is also useful.

I plan to go BS on my Dra Shaman for this very reason.

Curious as to what your favorite profession is if you dislike BS. All of them are a sink

Since I will have a brand-new toon for prepatch I plan to gather all the needed mats to max out and be ready before it drops.

It’s basically required if you wanna be serious in PVE. the proc is too godly to pass up.

If you care about your performance yes.

Currently Season 1 weapons won’t exist till P2 and S2 weapons won’t exist till P3 so you’re going to be running behind the curve damagewise unless you raid and get really lucky in P1 with double decapitators and getting double Netherbanes in p2.

My advice, You should have prepped 1-300 blacksmith months ago.

depends on how casual, if like super caring type of casual then yes. if you dont mind some dps loss, no.

edit: tried to look for real numbers but cant really find em. personally, i know the dps loss isnt gonna make or break my raid group and enhancement is brought for way more than our DPS so I’m not going BS.

Im casual myself, and a blacksmith. I’ve never dumped much fold into any of my professions, ever. I gather everything i can, and only purchase what I can’t. It’s definitely slower, but it keeps me busy longer.

They said they made a mistake with that in blizzcon

Still waiting to hear about whether or not that their plan is going to change.

The updated version is on wowhead. Phase 1 is s1 confirmed.

You know TBC is coming and you can prepare months in advance to get to 300 ahead of time.

Can’t help the TBC side of things but I’d say if you want to be the best to go for it and be ready. I wouldn’t want to bother with it during TBC.

That being said I would also say do research on the gap between it and 2nd or 3rd place. BIS does mean it is the best, but that doesn’t mean the runner ups are garbage. You will have to decide how big of a deal the gap between it and others matters to you.

We don’t know because we’re waiting for Beta to answer questions we have about the mechanics.

Right now, the sims are generally saying:

  • Slow main hand/fast off-hand with WF/FT appears to be better than paired slow weapons.

  • BS Axes appear to be better than BS Maces for Orcs. For other races, the Mace is better.

  • Sub-Resto specs out-perform sub-Elemental specs.

In general, the BS weapons are better than the other options (at least right now).

However, all of this can change depending on what we find out in Beta.

this surprises me, i thought slow/slow double windfury was the thing

It has a low proc rate, alot of people are gonna feel like they got scammed after making them
