Delete server side inferface data for character

I shared my ‘edit mode’ interface with someone and after importing it they have had non-stop interface error messages and the ui reset to another preset. They also cannot save any edit mode changes.

They have tried deleting the wtf folder and cache. Scan and repair. Removed all addons. Nothing helps.

Its only for one character. They also deleted and re-created the character and the errors persisted.

My thought was that the interface data stored server side is corrupted somehow.

That’s actually missing one important folder. You want WTF, Cache, and Interface folders.

Have them try doing a proper UI reset again following the guide below step by step, including advanced troubleshooting if needed.

They could also try running this command:
/console cvar_default

edit: which is in the advanced section of the article Jeysca linked

Deleted the interface folder to remove the addons.

The /console cvar_default did reset a whole bunch of things. The error messages no longer pop-up but still cannot save any changes or new edit mode profiles.

Just for clarification, did they do those two folder deletions happen separately or together? What I mean is did they delete Cache and WTF, sign in, then go and delete Interface afterwards.

If they did them separately please have them complete the steps in order and completely as listed on the guide.

Removed all 3 folders while the game was closed at the same time. Just tried it again.

edit: So I found a solution elsewhere. Which worked.

Switching to Modern Preset in game and then logout, go into WTF → Server your character is on → Your character folder → open file called edit-mode-character-cache and clear/delete all the lines in it (leave it blank) and just save. Should work. Its important to delete string written in it and not file itself since its backed up server side and will just redownload it.
