You’re right. The game would be more fair without addons. But the issue is more complex than that.

A WoW without addons would require Blizzard to put a level of depth and design into in-game functionality that they simply will not do so long as some players pay Blizzard for the ability to perform unpaid labor to develop functionality that Blizzard is too lazy/cheap to do themselves.

Would WoW without addons be ideal? Absolutely. But that’s never going to be a reality so just stop being a rampaging fanboy and just take two minutes to download the addon.

CS is purely mechanical skill, and there is zero mechanical skill in WoW. WoW is an information / IQ / awareness game. Comparing CS to WoW displays a fundamental misunderstanding of the kind of game WoW even is.

Also this idea that the game is more “fair” without addons is hilarious. You’d all be exactly the same rating as you are right now if addons were removed from the game.

Until WoW implements in game versions of big debuffs and DR tracking (I.e. completing their game), there will always be addons.

This whole idea that it’s somehow noble to “not play with addons” is comedy. The game is literally incomplete. DR tracking is vital, and one of the first thing anyone that wants to take arena serious learns. How is that not in the game? Needs to be in M+ too. Not seeing what mobs are on what DRs is super troll.

Addons that allow you to pay attention to and see/hear things that aren’t available in game, or aren’t displayed in a way you can see/hear are the issue.

Care to elaborate? I simply stated my opinions on the evolution of addons, from Omnibar, to gladiatorlossa and now Mes Weai Aura.

It totally is piloting players on when to press their buttons lol

I do think there was a skill element to knowing what classes did and having an internal cd tracker in your mind. Those RMP players in old torunerys were next level… Now they’re a joke.

I’ll be honest, if someone can play with that rattle going on in the background, more power to them. I can’t even think straight when some GPS-sounding voice spouts off an ability name every .2 seconds.
