Hello hardcore WoW enjoyers and onlookers. I’d like to present for your curiosity and discussion some census data on Defias Pillager alliance.
I’ve seen some interest on these forums and in other places about the activity/health of Hardcore WoW, and although this isn’t of concern to me, I thought the information relevant to it (at least on Defias Pillager Alliance is fun to at least see).
I have been collecting census data via /who commands operated by a defunct Addon as I play and recording the data. For the purposes of this data, I am excluding characters that have not been seen online in at least 10 days… and of course there is the caveat that my observations are only made during my playtime (although you could say I have a problem).
So, presented without additional context. Defias Pillager – Alliance.

Max Observed Population: 1,831 (August 5th, 10PM EST)
Min Observed Population: 546 (July 30th, 9AM EST)
Total Unique Characters: 10,715

Playing the game is engagement…enjoyment…fun. A bunch of data points that really don’t mean anything just seem tedious and more like work.

I few seconds to post a comment is hardly spending time. Additionally, the data you compiled is useless beyond a “look what I did with an addon and too much free time”.
It’s a statistical sample… and there are ways to calculate the confidence/error of data collected like this. ANOVA test(s) etc… I’m not claiming that doing so is important here, as I mentioned in my original post - this is purely some good curiousity/fun, but I did want to rebuttal your comment that the data is useless.
Why do you have such anger in your heart towards how people spend their free time? Let people enjoy things, and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find that you too can enjoy things as well.

Yeah, judge someone’s entire being because they see this sort of activity as a waste of time. That makes someone miserable. Why do you little kids get so triggered when someone disagrees with you on any level?
I want to start fresh but I’m usually horde .
Heard tail of a fresh alliance run in October .

My life is going pretty darn good, thank you very much. People are allowed to have dissenting opinions guy, and doing so isn’t a commentary on their own lives. However, false equivalency is a weak form of argument, a fallacy, which indicates a desire to argue without a true basis for argument.
“what you did serves no purpose” is not an opinion, friend. it’s just needless negativity
