And that, friend, is your opinion.
if you say so dude
Well, the words you type are no more correct than those of anyone else. You’re not special dude. I gave an opinion on the post, which I am allowed to do, but you want to argue about it.
okay 10char
bolstered my interest in joining HC knowing there is a dedicated following of people despite blizzards “low” tag. 10,000 unique characters is no small number.
You’re right. The only problem is that is not indicative of the actual account population. Last I checked, any one account is allowed up to 65 toons, with no limits for a given realm. If this applies to HC, then that 10,000 can very quickly drop to embarrassing numbers.
Now, I seriously doubt anyone is creating 65 HC toons, but the fact remains that people do have multiples, even on hardcore. Myself, I have 7 toons on Defias Pillager and if it weren’t for the beta, SoD, Remix, and prepping retail toons for the TWW launch, I’d have more on HC because it’s honestly my favorite mode, I just love having options.
The data only included level 60 characters in the top 10 guilds. While duplicates doubtless exist, given the nature of the server I don’t expect the same number of duplicates as in other modes.
So, in terms of number of accounts, it’s even less accurate. Again, I have 7 characters on DP and they comprise the guild.
I don’t expect the same volume, but if we look “per capita” it is likely equivalent to classic at least and possibly retail. The point is, just pulling character names isn’t a reliable way to measure realm population. It’s really not much use aside from seeing who is on at the time you pull the names.
You are correct, it’s not reliable in the sense you can submit it for peer review.
As a little side project for personal interest that may be of interest to others as a starting point for personal experience it works just fine.
No doubt. But that doesn’t preclude others from stating their opinions on the overall uselessness of the data.
Neither does the overall uselessness of the opinion, apparently.
Get butt hurt over my opinion all you want, it doesn’t change that the op is just a presentation of useless data.
And you’re telling other people to get a life?
Where did I tell anyone to “get a life”?
I’ll wait.
Fair point. You didn’t directly say that. But criticizing someone about how they spend their free time is pretty lame. Especially while trolling.
Calling someone a troll is the issue, all I did was give my opinion on the post and I’ve stuck around the discussion to explain my opinion. You, however, are simply offering insults just because I have a differing opinion.
Who’s the troll?
Could you point out where I called you a troll?
I’ll wait.
No butthurt here. No need to be salty.
Sure.
You done?
That’s not name calling. That’s pointing out an action.
