The quest Defending the Rift seems to be a bit bugged. Erunak Stonespeaker after getting frozen in ice and freed does not move up with the party and stays back. Sometimes he still cast lava bust every now and then, but this is one of the few final quest in Vashj’ir. He resets after the next group of people arrive on the boat to try to complete the quest. This quest still has same bug from 12yrs ago.

Ran into this as well. Didn’t recover and had to abandon the quest.

Just ran into this exact issue. Has anyone been able to get past this bug once it happens? I’ve abandoned an retired my quest 3 times…
I have just ran into this isue aswell. Nothing happens and they don’t do anything. If I run to the area, nothing is there and it certainly doesn’t look like a battlefield.
EDIT: Talk to the quest giver and it starts the whole thing.
Nazgrim disappeared the first time I tried completing this and I got stuck in some kind of loop with the scenario repeating like 3 times. Restarted the quest string by going back to the cave twice and ran into the problem again. On the 3rd attempt, finally saw the NPC’s advance to the ledge, but then the NPC’s disappeared and 4 other toons popped up out of nowhere and all 4 of them got to complete the quest, but me and another were not able to complete the quest. Yes, please fix these bugs.
[edit] The 6th time was the charm, and finally got this completed.

Just stood there and it finally worked
6th time tried, with no luck… i gave up, it’s been over 1 month since the bug been issued, yet, the dev still give no sign on fixing this.
