So far the only decent method I’ve found is to farm Desolate Talus for several hours and make a couple thousand on the AH, but that can’t be the current best (Non-token buying) method right?
If anyone has some advice on decent methods to making gold, it would be appreciated.
Professions seem to have died to the point where anything other than desolate talus and gold-tier phantom bloom is nearly worthless to sell, and the most that questing/caches seem to give is 1,000 at most, so I’m not sure how best to farm.
I actually still run five Garrison‘s just for the gold making. I’m absolutely floored at how much stuff I can still sell after all these years because of people who are collectors and Completionist and still need it. I bring down a little more than 125,000 gold per month just from those resources.

I’ve gotten 15k rewards from the weekly Dorn chests multiple times. I think generally I get between 3-5k.

See if I told you, it wouldn’t be a good gold making method anymore
That vendor has no idea how much that stuff actually sells for on the AH

I used to do that with reagents back in the day. I would buy a bunch of crap people needed for their spells and because they were near to the game, they had no idea they could go to a vendor and get it for 50 silver when I was selling it in the auction house for five gold
There is a method that makes about 15k an hour but again why give up my secrets?
Every single one of my characters has herbalism and mining, I just grab a couple of truesight potions and jam some music and do my thing and can make quite a bit of gold that way.
I’ve never been a crafter, sometimes I’ll flip items on the auction house if I feel up for it, but the tried and true method of gathering has worked for me for many years and still does.

Hmm, i’ll have to test further. Maybe i gotta get more of my alts involved for it to be profitable? Thank you
Doing all the tww weeklies nets a solid amount of gold. And all the season 1 weeklies take no time at all.
Last time someone was qqing about gold. I showed them what I made in an hour just doing world content.
Was like 15k. Then I made another 1-2k from mats lol.

I will have to go back through my strategies then lol. Thank you!
I make around 150k-200k a week, but this only works as an altoholic (I have 54 characters) and there are several systems you need in place before it works. Things such as getting everyone to Renown 80 in their Shadowlands Covenant for example is 1602g from weekly Anima collection; otherwise its 102g until you reach that point. BFA you need to unlock the Void Invasion, that’s 3 a week for either 200 resources or 2000g each, you get it at random. There’s a lot more to it, but I don’t want to divulge all my sources that are more obscure and less well known

Be an extreme right of bell curve and sell carries. Anything less is likely chump change for time investment or requires massive capital and tedium to try and be an AH baron.
15k an hour? Better to just buy the gold at that rate lol.
So, on every alt possible do all weeklies from the last several expansions. Not a bad tactic, and seems to go along with others’ comments above about weekly dorn caches. Thank you! I’ll have to check around bfa/shad/DF/tww reps and weeklies to see what i can get total per character and go from there.

Well, when in doubt, it works fairly well, especially if you don’t want to mess with crafting for whatever reason.
That’s why I’m always amazed by the folks that are constantly sitting at 30K or less who seem to think anything over 50K in today’s game means “you’re rich.” Without fail, these folks don’t even touch gathering professions, and they somehow get it into their minds that it takes hours upon hours to make anything. All they have to do is take five seconds to grab that random node in their path, or the few that pop up near whatever quest objective they are currently doing out in the world. Even passively gathering and selling stuff on the AH is better than nothing, yet they can’t even be bothered to do THAT!
I just don’t get it.
Maybe if you have a weak mind and more IRL money than sense.
I’ll be honest: the average WoW player is actually generally going to be fine if they maintain 50K-100K gold on their account. That should be more than sufficient for two characters. You don’t actually need hundreds of thousands of gold, but for whatever reason people want it.
If you’re actually out in the world and doing various content, hitting weeklies, etc. rather than treating the city hub as nothing more than a glorified lobby, you should be fine.

So pinnacle caches give 1.6 k gold normally, but I’ve seen them give 3k or 16k.
Last week the weekly quest was to do one single delve on any difficulty. 1.6 k minimum on X alts really adds up. This week its a bit more annoying but still very fast even on undergeared alts.
There’s a world quest in the new zone that gives 0.9 - 1 k gold for rolling around on a sphere. It’s super fast. Do that on X alts.
And there’s tons of gold in professions. Like it’s still the start of the tier, plenty of people asking for stuff, plenty of stuff moving fast on the AH.

You do know that if you post any method of making gold that Blizzard will nerf it within the next week or so because they want you to buy tokens.
There is an extremely easy goldmaker on K’aresh that you can make bank off of if you have a ton of level 80 alts, but why would I tank the market by sharing it?
Doing the weekly chests of TWW, basically the “big” WQs that requires doing 3 small ones.
Targeting the WQs that give 800g to 1k gold
Selling mats is also a simple way to get gold.
Some methods i use.

I usually make ~200k-400k a week, but it does involve RNG. You need a lot of alts though since it involves raid resets.
