The PvP honor system is actually a “Bid” system where you bid time. In Vanilla the bid for top brackets is about 60-80 hours but in Classic the bid will be somewhere around 100-140 hours. Given the runs I’ve seen people do in Diablo 3 and the information from Honor Spy (An addon that tracks honor gained), it’s quite crazy.
I’m excited for all the horde players complaining about queue times after spending 6 weeks of ganking the entire population off the server while having impossible odds at top ranks
Three things that’ll demoralize you
- Ganking the entire population off the server would be perceived as beating the game and winning the war.
- Xserver will gerrymander PvE servers into their battlegroups resulting in fast queues for horde. Since PvE servers are so populated by alliance and PvEers need to rank to get BiS raiding gear, HORDE will be the one with instant queues.
- Rank is based on honor gains from people on your faction. If the overall honor gained is super low, then it’s much easier, less competition and less time needed to reach r14.
Not every player wants to hit R14 in the first week. Alot of those rank players want R11 (for the mount because its badass). Alot of them are happy enough with the lower blue gear - you dont need to commit your entire life to honor farm to achieve this.
This was true due to needing to maintain rank to use earned gear.
I only wish that an arms warrior and the game in general felt the same way as it does in Classic, or i would be there.
These two comments have me wondering, do you know how the Honor system works?
Even if you were in #1 standing on your server every week it would take 12 weeks to reach Rank 14.
Just to go from Rank 13 to Rank 14 takes three weeks at #1 standing. And do you have any idea how much you have to PvP to get #1 standing?
When I said three months at 60-80 hours a week, that isn’t for rank 14. That is for R12-R13 depending on how competitive your server is. For the first people getting to rank 14 it will be a complete nightmare, probably 100+ hours a week for at least 3 months.
After the initial wave gets rank 14 it won’t take as many hours per week, but it’ll take more weeks because there will be a line for who is allowed to be in the top brackets each week. The premades will set honor caps, and if you “break brackets” you’ll be kicked out of the premades.
By the time BG’s are released there will already be people who are rank 9. If you’re not rank 9 by then it’ll take you at least four months of PvP’ing every week to get rank 12+.
Yes.
Ok. Not every player wants to hit R14 on the 12th week.
This entirely depends on the amount of pvp/honor that every other player on your server has earnt. You can hit R14 on the 12th week doing 1 hour of pvp a week for a total of 10,000 honor, if the rest of the server earns no more than 9999.
Unless of course they hit the rank they want, buy all the gear they need, and farm dk’s to de rank allowing the next one to get there faster.
Unless you run your own premades teams. Nothing says you have to conform to everyone elses terms. But it is helpful.
but… they’ve already announced the BGs are cross realm.
The prediction is about the forum posts complaining about cross server bg’s. No in depth description - just pages and pages full of tears about them.
That is technically true but in reality it will never happen that way. Honor caps will be a million honor or more once BG’s come out.
De-ranking is pointless. There isn’t a limit to the number of people who can be rank 12 at a time. There is only a limit to the number of people allowed in the weekly brackets.
Every server will basically have a cartel that regulates who is allowed in the top brackets each week. If you break brackets you will be blacklisted by every premade.
Premades farm honor at least four times faster than people solo queueing. If you get blacklisted, there aren’t enough hours in a week to compete for the top brackets.
You could start your own premades, but by doing so you would make the PvP scene very disorderly(making it very hard to stack brackets), and everyone in your premade would also be blacklisted.
honestly wish they would delay cross realm bgs. It’d be nice to get some revenge on all the trash alliance that outnumber us 80/20 on this server in an actual controlled environment where they dont just have to play the “delay until more people show up” tactics and roaming around in zergs of 15-20.
Plus it would be nice for those refugees to have a BG queue for piling up on this server as their safe haven.
To be fair Edge, I think horde are basically running this server outside of BRM and the adjacent areas.
No it isnt. You still run the premade with the player who is now fully geared with R14 gear (because they now destroy the enemy), they earn honor, and lose that honor in the same week before the weekly standings.
You can think that but you are incorrect. you should /who every 50+ zone, especially those with neutral cities or end game dungeons.
It isn’t that the horde outnumber the alliance. It is that the horde who transferred here are looking for PvP, while the alliance who transferred here aren’t.
Every time I go to Dire Maul or WPL/Scholo I see an 8-10 man horde raid running around killing everyone, and the alliance don’t care to organize a PvP group because they just want to do their quests and run dungeons.
The only places where alliance dominate are places where there are so many alliance going through that the horde are always severely outnumbered.
- Almost no one continues PvP’ing after they hit Rank 14.
- Getting DK’s doesn’t cause you to lose honor, it causes you to lose rank points. If you keep PvP’ing at rank 14 you would be taking other people’s spots in the brackets, regardless of how many dk’s you get. No one should PvP after they hit rank 14 because they just screw over the people trying to rank.
Lol. We must not be playing on the same server. The alliance out number the horde 5 to 1 here, and there are few if any flight paths we can use in 50+ zones safely. Read some posts, you just don’t see it cuz you arent the one dealing with it. You’re complaining about 8-10 horde outside DM. In every lvl 50+ zone there are multiple 8-15 man alliance zergs complaining they can’t find horde or worse yet, camping the 3 or 4 horde they came across that they arent even getting honor for anymore.
In fact in most cases there are more level 60 alliance in org than there are horde.
This is incorrect also. Most people that hit R14 do it with a team, and they just take turns boosting each other up to R14. Once someone gets it they still go hard enough to get R13 numbers but they let the next man up go harder and get a little more than them.
If you do this you will continue to ruin your worlds PVP experience and have horde camp your body til end of days when trying to enter BRM, Strat for sure
If you are a solo horde on Heartseeker you stand no chance whatsoever. You will get utterly destroyed everywhere you go.
The problem is, the organized pvp groups for alliance tend to be running in small groups of 2-5, because they are trying to cover more ground and are desperate to find the small number of solo horde out in the world.
The horde on the other hand are running in 10-man groups. And sadly the alliance PvP groups have no interest in actually engaging the larger horde groups, so the horde can basically camp Dire Maul for hours until a guild shows up to get DMN buffs and overruns them.
Most of the alliance PvP groups are also trying to raid Orgrimmar, because running around trying to find the few solo horde is boring. But the horde rankers don’t want to waste their time defending Orgrimmar, they’re just running around the 50-60 zones ganking everyone.
It is a weird dynamic here.
I played with many because they enjoy pvp.
It actually causes you to lose rank as soon as you get the dk. So you can go from R14 all the way back to R1 in a day. Aslong as you arnt earning more honor than the rest of the entire server, you will never hold anyone from the top spot.
R12-14 gear is the best gear in the game to pvp in. Why do you expect players to earn those rewards if they are never allowed to take part in pvp again? You are basically trying to say if you hit full raid bis, you shouldnt do that raid anymore because you are taking a potential spot from someone who isnt full raid bis, that will use that gear.
