Debunking the "Anti-RDF" arguments!

Nice topic, Blizzard devs need to wake up from their slumber to read it.
someone gotta blow the horn of Cenarius.

Gosh, it’s almost like the op intentionally pretended not to understand the objections. What a surprise.

So, your “debunking” consisted of inventing arguments for the other side and then saying “nuh uh!” to them?

Yeah, there’s a reason Blizzard has taken a side on this issue.

I never claimed spamming chat was the peak of being social, but it is being social by the very definition if the word. And its better than click buttong be in dungeon do dungeon without a word and done with dungeon, click buttong, get in dungeon, exc.

Except it removes dialog used to form parties, removes one of the incentives of making social connections which is the ease of forming parties through social connections, and by preventing the start of conversations from the very begining it reduces the chance of a more in depth conversation from occurring.

Your feeling do not stoo the truth from being truth.

Ok, let me tell you something. And I am only going to use this as one example.

It is 4am here in Sydney. It is 4am on Oceanic Servers. This is the time I am usually most active in game, except oh, hard to put a group together because people here in Australia would be usually asleep. So, you tell me how not having RDF can benefit for everyone who plays on the Oceanic Servers.

Lol, oh right. All the dialogue of forming a group. like “LFG SH” spammed over and over. How will we ever get by without such brilliant dialogue.

They are probably someone who is against RDF because they then won’t be able to make gold selling dungeon boost.

Pretty much. The only people who are against RDF are boosters and GDKPers who want a stronger stranglehold on the playerbase

People who are mad about losing the social aspect of the game are trying to replicate an experience from the past that they’re not going to get with or without RDF.

The past is the past and the community as changed drastically.

You will not get the same experience you had in 2008 wrath because it is fundamentally not the same. We are releasing on a later patch. We are playing old content so there is nothing left to the imagination. You are not getting the sense of exploration, you are revisiting the past not experiencing it for the first time. People whom are experiencing for the first time also will not have the same experience as people whom have because they are integrated with players whom have experienced it.

Players are more goal oriented and find themselves more consistently looking for the most efficient way to achieve these goals. The community has evolved into a more combative atmosphere. Less players are concerned with the ride and more concerned with the destination. Once again, less players. I am not saying this is the entire community, simply less people are concerned with the experience as they are with the end-game goals.

I want that fat loot and 90%+ on warcraftlogs, I understand I am part of the problem too. I enjoy my gameplay that way and no one is going to tell me how to enjoy the game and my free time. I also don’t care about how other people experience it because I have my guild and my friends and don’t really care if I make new ones or not.

I have what I need to get what I want and there are other people out there like me. You’re not going to change that. Having or not having RDF isn’t going to affect it either since I will just stay in my guilds bubble and gatekeep people we don’t know from our groups.

People that want to experience the past are going to be disappointed.

Simple it encourages you to find those who also play at the time you do and make friendships to help you group around the same time with those people and their friends who play at that time.

The lack of gand holding encourages you to go out and talk to people who also play with a similar schedule to you.

Some dialog is better than none, and starting with dialog increases the chqnce of more dialog happening.

Never sold a boost, never will. Nice try though. Got any other conspiracy theories?

Dialog can come from guild discord, who case about everyone’s gameplay that I don’t know lol

lmfao this is literal gold. This is exactly how people act.

“People think they want to play on PvP servers but they’re wrong. That’s the only reason people are on them”

“RDF is fundamentally good - nothing bad from it. if you disagree, you’re wrong”

“Boosts change everything/boosts change nothing, no other opinion is correct”.

First of all, it actually doesn’t

Nobody is arguing it removes socialization…we’re arguing that it creates an environment and meta where socialization is less common.

almost impossible to keep up with on who was on your server

Server community is a dumb concept. Servers should be abolished entirely. But RDF does destroy community because it removes most reasons to add somebody as a friend after running a dungeon with them.

This one is entirely false.

Nobody says you CAN’T make friends. See point 1.

I think people really need to post a source before making this claim.

No. We don’t. Bad features apriori make people leave the game…RDF is a bad feature…therefore it made people leave the game. Every bad system drives more and more people from the game.

here is nothing stopping you from manually finding a group with your friends or guilds

“once you introduce cheats into GTA there is no reason you can’t still go thru the story to unlock all the stuff.”

Um actually it literally removes 99% of the reason most people do it in the first place. People run dungeons to see them, and for gear. Socialization is a BYPRODUCT.

Me personally, I usually quest while in a queue

Bro imagine designing a game where the player constantly get’s interrupted while questing to be teleported to a random dungeon. Nobody would make a game like this, it’s obviously bad design.

I level same as you do. (because it’s optimal, even tho I hate it). And I literally can’t even kill 2 mobs before my que pops. It’s legit cancer. This is why I end up sitting in the city and queing dungeons. Because questing while qued is literally awful for tanks and healers.

Retail is in a bad place at the moment because of things that have been added over the course throughout Legion, Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands

Yea. And also in TBC and Wrath…that’s why WE are trying to make WoW better by stopping these features from being implemented in the first place. RDF is the QUINTISSENTIAL example of what you’re describing…and you’re ignoring it.

So you’re proposing a full on feature addition to benefit the absolutely small minority of players who choose to play during the middle of the night?

That’s a you problem, fam. The OVERWHELMING majority of people play during peak hours. As a result, the overwhelming majority of people aren’t experiencing the issues you are stating.

As an someone who is anti-RDF I fully support servers being combined and cross server grouping.

The only people “exploring” aren’t actually exploring they are leveling their professions or doing dailies. Most of us know the areas as well as our keyboards. RDF is really only effecting people that want to gank people at summoning stones.

Bro PVE servers exist…why are people on forums complaining about ganking?

And I’m anti-RDF because I’ve played retail…I’ve sat in cities and dungeon qued all the way to max level. I’ve had ques going while I desperately try to finish a single quest. I’ve done every single dungeon at least once and I hate EVERY SINGLE one post TBC. With the exception of BFA I don’t even know where these dungeons are physically located. I hate the way the quests are inside the dungeon. I hate the way difficult dungeons don’t cater to pugs.

I oppose it because I play the game dude. RDF is cancer.
