Deathstalker Hero Tree

It is sorta wild.

Like clockwork the way they ignore us

Evidently as it turns out, they don’t want anybody playing any of the 3 specs period :dracthyr_lulmao:

From an Assa PoV plague dmg kind of fits for the “deadly master of poisons” spec. The whole tree gives the impression of a very early draft though
albeit released as the last hero talent overview.

There is no sign of a common theme as quite a few talents don’t fit Assa’s play style or dmg profile at all.

Deathstalker’s Mark + Darkest Night sound like a cool gameplay loop but both talents have huge gameplay issues. In ST applying the mark with Ambush from stealth is probably going to be OK. 2x Vanish is surely needed to re-apply with Ambush. Hopefully Blindside/Ambush proccs count as well.

in AoE though you don’t open with Ambush. With the reduction of Carnage down to 6 sec. and the changes to Bone Spikes you will most probably want to Gar > Gar > Rup > Rup > FoK > CT. How is one supposed to apply the mark? Opening with 2-3 Ambushes for marks and then trying to Garrote the last 3 sek of the Carnage/Subterfuge window? Have fun with the energy starvation and non existent dps afterwards.
Garrote needs to be one of the mark applying skills besides Ambush.

Darkest Night has its own issues. In ST Assa has no chance with max. mark build up to clear the last mark and get the capstone benefits before the mark runs out. We just can’t spend the necessary finishers fast enough nor have the energy to do so.
For Subtlety spec the capstone is virtually non existent as they will never even come close to a situation where they can clear the last mark as applying marks with Shadow Dance far exceeds the possibility to clear them.
in AoE there are other issues with the Mark but that would lead too far. This capstone in its current form is just a flawed design and needs iterations to work for both specs.

Other skills that need a look at (ignoring the two extremely uninspired/boring ones “Flensing Knives”, “Hunt Them Down”):

Corrupt the Blood: the tooltip reads good on paper. But the stacking debuff gets overwritten when you re-apply fresh Ruptures through a Vanish/Carnage making you lose the dmg amp. And Rupture spreading during Carnage is opposing to the new Deaktstalker’s Mark play style you try to implement with Ambush. It feels strange.

Lingering Darkness: the numbers in the tooltip can’t be correct, right? After we have blown all our CDs (Deathmark, Shiv, Kingsbane) we are basically empty. What are we supposed to do with 3 sec. +10% Nature dmg? The season2 4p bonus was at least acceptable while not great with 30 sec. +40% Nature dmg. The set was hard carried by the 2p.

Singular Focus: looks great that you try to bring back a bit of funnel with this skill in combination with Spatter/dots gameplay. I hope it stays.

Momentum of Despair / Follow the Blood (choice node): Why is this a choice node? Both skills do so the same just in a different way.
Just scrap “Hunt Them Down”, give us Momentum of Despair in its place and include Crimson Tempest in its list of supported skills as CT was clearly forgotten.

Deathstalker has the most feedback so far and the concept is the best. I think it will turn out the best over the long haul.

Idea has really cool potential, it needs to remove these generic talents but there is opportunity for a lot of good things
note: I love these emojis of people surfing
